it happened to me awhile back, I opened a ticket and got this in my email:
Petition: when I BG, i constantly get a message in the chat log saying "you are not in a party", not trying too type or anything, just shows up randomly, every 2-5 seconds it shows up, not sure if its related, but when i log out i get a message saying "you are not in a guild"
Your issue may be caused by interface corruption and you may need to reload your UI. This is done by typing “/console reloadui”. This command simply refreshes your UI, as if you had just logged in.
If this does not resolve your issue, exit the World of Warcraft by logging out of the game to your login screen. On the login screen, click on the “Options” button and then click on the “Reset UI Settings” button. Click on “Okay” to confirm the base UI options reset. This performs many, but not all of the actions performed during a Reset UI. This will reset all standard Blizzard Interface Options including those not accessible from the Interface Panel. This WILL NOT remove any installed addons or third party UI mods.
If these steps fail, then you may need to reset your interface completely, the instructions for which can be found at
http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20377. If you are still experiencing issues that may be related to your User Interface, and the standard reset UI steps do not correct it, then we have a repair utility that can check your files and replace any that may be corrupted. These instructions have been sent to your registered email address as well.
If none of the above steps resolves your issue, the issue you are having is best handled through our Technical Support Department. You can contact them directly by calling them at 1-949-955-1382 or by emailing them directly at wowtech@blizzard.com.
