Hard question? An upgrade is an upgrade, even if its not omgbis. The game isnt only for minmaxers. Some of us take upgrades that arent bis.

Well as far as non-plate gear goes i see no problem with you getting them, as long as there s no one else needing on them that is of the "correct" armor proficiency. I ve seen some dps cloth belts that are awesome for a holy paladin wearing rep blues. if a mage-lock-priest is not needing on it, then go ahead and use it.
However, when an item is BoE, then there is no debate for me. Everyone should have a chance on the item whether he needs to wear it or put it on AH, so we raidroll it. Unless you are among friends so they might pass the cash so you can use it. But really, BoE = raid roll

An upgrade is an upgrade.
I don't give a damn if it is cloth.
The raid leader was 100% wrong in what he did.
BUT...
The reason he is wrong is because of the pre-determined loot rules.
If I go into a raid, it is with the knowledge that 100% of the BOE goes to the guild/group that is running the raid. (that includes PUGS that were started by a few guildies/friends. It takes a lot of time/effort to be a good raid leader.)
It sounds like you just shouldn't raid with that hunter anymore.
Problem solved.

Dont Pug.
You joined a pug.ANYTHING can and does happen in such grps.
If it was your guild gm and I'd have said something.
And nothing Is going to happen by your ranting here.Just forget it..ignore him and refer his name to your guildmates if you want.Just opening a thread here is not going to give you your gear back.

There are a lot of paladins out there which would agree.. Im not one of them.
Im not one to flat out call people wrong..but you are oh so wrong. What holy paladin would take haste/mp5 over crit/mp5. boe, bop, bis, @#$% all that. crit will reign as king of mana regen until they take illumination out of the tree. Gold is easy enough to get nowadays without picking up a random boe (what naxx boe is still worth anything anyway?) that it should go to someone who would actually USE it rather than someone that wants a little more cash.
And since the ml just kept it even with an off spec roll for it, its just another case of crappy ml.
