This is getting out of hand. I have PVP, Tanking, Heroic/Quest DPS and Raid DPS gear sets that I have to carry around at all times. Not to mention fishing pole, enchanting rod, hearth, mining pick, etc...
I'm sick of not having bag space. Can anybody else relate?
You never played a druid, do you ?
- Feral tank
- Feral dps
- Feral pvp
- Resto
- Resto pvp
- Balance
and for some of these specs, I have multiple idols ( 3 for feral tank, 2 for feral pvp ).

Your soft hit cap is the same in heroics or raiding, and there is very little difference between soft expertise cap in heroics and raiding.
Heroic Hit Cap is 5.4% and Expertise is 6%. For raids it's 8% and 6.5%. So hit cap is significantly less.
That said, I have a full bag of DPS gear and two full bags of tanking gear. I'm sure there's probably half a bag full of stuff I can get rid of.
I have to keep 4 pieces of T8.5 for when I want the Spell Damage reduction (basically just use it for last phase of Iron Council hardmode). I keep my 3 Frost Resist pieces on that I use when tanking Hodir. I have my full 14 or whatever pieces of Block Value gear I use for heroics. I have a couple other random rings and neck pieces that have a variety of Hit and Expertise that I can swap around if I need it. I still carry like 4 shields even though I don't really use them ever, and probably around 8 trinkets.
Add in the bag that is full of potions, flasks, scrolls, food, and "fun items" (Iron boot flask, furbog rod, picnic basket, unhatched Oracle egg)... I pretty much run with just my backpack empty.

well, i am fury main spec, and have my gear plus assorted odds and ends that i may swap out every now and then... (i rarely do..)
and i have my tanking gear for heroics and progression raids in case (/sigh) im asked to tank.. which consists of several sets depending on what im doing, and different trinkets, etc.
what i think is worse, is the amount of bufffood and pots i end up carrying around with me. add the green gems i carry around for the daily JC quest, and i have 1.5 bags empty.
oddly enough tho, it doesnt seem to bother me. youre not going to catch me farming anything as i dont have a gathering prof.
but, just out of curiosity - why DO you need to carry everything around? in case youre stuck in the middle of the woods and suddenly get called for whatever? usually (i am at least) youre parked in some sort of major city (dalaran anyone?), in close proximity to a *drumroll* bank... so really, its just a matter of convenience - not having to run to the bank if getting invited as dps / tank to raid / instance so and so...
and i guess, you could always get the frostweave bag thingys ;-)

At least we don't need resistance gear other than for Hodir tanking.

Because I both tank and DPS in raids, so I need to have both sets of gear. And if I need both sets of gear sometimes, I might as well carry it all the time and be used to the lack of space.
I carry all of my prot gear because I may want more health for one boss, or use 4-piece T8.5 for another boss. I want to use my Block Value gear on trash so I take less damage and do more threat. Maybe it's really important for me to have a lot of hit and expertise for one boss, but less important on another boss.
IMHO, part of being a good tank is having the tools available and knowing when to use them.

you got me wrong.. i dont do it any other way and carry multiple sets and stuff i can swap out.. i just learned to live with it. if my bags were too full, i would surely be able to find something to deposit in the bank ;) (2 bags full of tanking and dps gear, one of buff food and pots.. that leaves me with 1.5 - 2 bags free depending on what i carry around... )

Seriously bro - if you need a SBV/Trash tanking set, your raid is already doomed. None of the tanks I roll with, or even my own, have anything other than a mitigation&EHP set/build. Whilst, in theory, you are correct, unfortunately the correct tools are Mitigation and EHP.
Why would I need 40 expertise for trash. Why would I need 8% hit on trash? Why would I need thousands of extra armor on trash?
I can click one button, switch my gear, and perform my job better. I have the gear on me anyway for when I run heroics, I might as well use it.
It'd just be a pain in the ass to keep running to my bank every time I wanted to switch any gear around.
Love the unfounded "Your raid is doomed" comment. Do I NEED SBV/Trash tanking set. No, I didn't say I needed it. I'm sure I could do just fine rolling around in trash with my 48,000 health.

Alright, I got it! Blizz implements Diablo-style bag space, we all get Horadric Cubes and we all live happily ever after in the ahem-WoW universe. Problem solved.
