The latest update of the Wowhead Client (downloaded automatically today) no longer works in Windows 7, even under compatibility mode.
I ran the client and it updated and said 3 files updated okay. Then it crashed. I restarted it and it did the update again and then crashed. I started it a third time and it didn't crash, but instead asked for me to re-enter my login information. However, every time I try to go into the options to do that, it crashes.

I have not had a problem previously with it crashing (other than when trying to view data, which another thread already noted). This just started with the new update that was released.
It also deletes all upload statistic data. I don't know if that's normal for updates as I've never paid attention before, but it really shouldn't delete that information just because the client was updated. For that matter, it shouldn't delete login information either.

I, too, am having the same problem.
I have the client on startup and it claims it cannot find the WoW directory. I browse to it, and then the client crashes.

Same problem. Client 1.4 from 9/25/2009, Windows 7 x64 build 7100. It also doesn't seem to remember where my WoW is installed, as it asks to confirm its location on every startup.
Bad push?

On vista sp2 x86, the client asks me if my Wow folder is C:\users\public\games\World of Warcraft. After pressing yes, it crashes. Same thing if I choose no and browse for it myself, and if I remove any saved variables. Downloading a new client didn't fix it.

Having a bit different problem on Win7 Ultimate.
The client starts up fine, everything displays correctly. When I try to open the options, the client crashes hard and the good ol' Win7 style error reporting pops up, and informs that the program has stopped working.
Tried compatibility modes but to no avail...

The application crashed for me after the last update. It wants my login info but I cannot enter it because "options" takes me straight to the alert. Here is the info:

Client 1.4.1 on Windows XP, when uploading data -- upload goes fine but the client still shows that there still data to be uploaded. Any thoughts?

Mine currently goes through the following process on every launch (Windows Vista here and client not in C:\Program Files\):
1. Is your WoW client here ...? Yes
2. Opens up and presents the config page to enter my username/password. Done.
3. Main screen shows approx 75KB to upload. Click upload.
4. Client says it is uploading approx 600KB (It was 515KB the first time today that I tried it). Completes.
5. Main screen shows approx 75KB to upload. Click upload. Must wait 30min before uploading.
If I close and restart the client immediately, the same process repeats.

Perhaps related, perhaps not, but ...
Every time Wowhead Client starts, I get this:
