Yeah, if he has it on a toon already then it's totally unreasonable.

If you were the one putting the group together, then it was your loot rules plain and simple. If he didn't agree with those rules and the two of you couldn't come to an understanding before the group started, then he shouldn't have been invited along period.
If one of my guild members was threatening to ninja something (seriously, not jokingly mind you) or raging at me over something trivial, I would have wished him well in his next guild, because he certainly wouldn't be a part of mine anymore.

You both worked to kill Coren, you both spend your daily summon, why shouldn't you both be allowed to roll on the drop?
Because there are other drops the person may be interested in?
From what I'm reading, the guy put together the group with one condition - he wanted the kodo. Everything else was up for grabs. This has been a common practice since long before Brewfest came into being. If you disagree with the leader's loot rules, don't join the group. How is that even remotely unreasonable?
It certainly didn't warrant nerdrage and a /gquit from the other party involved. It was unnecessary drama from someone not getting his way. It should never have escalated to the point that it did. I'm still baffled why anyone threatening to ninja the group would be invited so he doesn't cause an "uproar." That's just asking for trouble.

I wouldn't have passed on it.
As a mount and pet collector, I often organize runs for mounts, asking for people who already have/do not want the mounts.
If you advertised you wanted people for the run who didn't want the kodo and that guildie wanted it, then it's perfectly fine to deny him. If, however, you didn't specify that, and if you were to kick them out of the group if they said they wanted it, that's just rude. It's a huge advantage to try get people who don't want the mount, since if it drops its yours. But if you are just doing a normal group, then just need on it and hope you don't roll a 1.
When I first started farming for the Bronze Drake I invited a guy I knew to join the group, he got carried the entire way through.. we beat the clock (we could have 4 manned it he was so bad) no one needs the drake, I need it and so does he, he wins then says, "awesome and I'm not even going to get my epic flying!" to which I asked "why the F** did you need it then", he just thought it would be cool to have in his bag. I never invited him to do anything with any group of mine again.
I already have my brewfest kodo, and another one dropped when I did Direbrew today. Everyone knew I had it, and I was tempted to need roll on it anyways, so I could have an extra one kicking around in my bank. I couldn't bring myself to do that. o_O I just thought about if it was someone doing that to me :P I couldn't pull off such a !@#$ move.

I dont know that I have an opinion on the Specific roll, but I Would like to point out an issue with your logic.
You are a nice and helpful person. that is great. I love people like you ingame, and I try and help out Anytime I can with my guild. However, Just because you are nice, it doesnt give you an Edge over getting or wanting things. It tends to sully the "Reason" you are being nice. IOWs if your being nice, but feel taken advantage of, you need to handle that within yourself. The story you wrote sounds as if you felt you Deserved it because you help this guy out all the time, and you had passed to help other people previously, and didnt want to risk a random roll for the mount.
Again, as it was stated above me, I see this problem to be avoided ifit was stated Before the run - i.e. /g "hey guys, I am really trying to get the KoDo, and one wanna do brewfest with me to help out?". At that point, you would have been in the clear.
this is just my opionion, but I find people who go out of their way to be helpful, esp if it goes against what you Really want to do (would do) end up building up a lot of resentments.
Good luck on the mount, there is still time left =)

I have to say I find you slightly unreasonable, asking for "dips" on the mount in advance. No problem if some of your guildies volunteer to pass, nice people. But if the last guy feels a desire for the mount too, why shouldn't he be allowed to roll? After all if he can't roll there is little reason for him to kill Coren in the first place.
If someone asks in advance "hey, if xx drops, can I have it?" and it's a thing I need too , my standard reply is "Sure... if you roll higher than me". To be honest I frequently choose pass once I see how ecstatic the other guy gets over the drop, but forfeit the loot in advance is not for me..
You both worked to kill Coren, you both spend your daily summon, why shouldn't you both be allowed to roll on the drop?
This. Sure, you put the group together you make the rules, but I'm a collector too, so I wouldn't have done the run with you if you'd told me I couldn't roll on the only thing getting me to go back there every day.
