Are you stating that's what you think they will make next or are you asking us for our opinions about whether they should make it?

Starcraft Galaxy would be a better name.

Starcraft Galaxy would be a better name.
I don't think they'd want to name their game anything that even resembles the failure that was Star Wars: Galaxies. Modeling the name after WoW would be a much better idea.
I don't think it will ever happen though. Starcraft: Ghost has more of a chance of being brought back to life than a World of Starcraft being made, I think.

Lol, because the Zerg use weapons, their just a mass of roiling killer waves of death and destruction. And the Protoss use energy blades.

@ Hyper - you could substitute 'successful MMOPRGs' instead, and wipe out most of that list. I was reminded last night what a failure Star Wars Galaxies was.
I still maintain the best 'next' step for the Starcraft franchise is to create a hybrid FPS/RTS game, where players can take control of a hero unit and play in FPS mode. Ideally, you'd be playing 2v2, where one person would control the RTS strategy, and the partner would be controlling the FPS side of things. Then, a strategist's failure can be compensated for by FPS 1337ness, and a FPS failure can be compensated for by tactical mastery.
Mostly because I want to see how my brother's FPS Goliath tries to take down a swarm of mutas :)
If there was a World of Starcraft though, you'd so totally have to try to multibox shuttle/reavers.

Also: None of the ones I listed are defunct. I purposely left out the defunct ones.

Starcraft: Ghost
*cough* *cough*
If you take a look at SC2, they are semi-adding this in. While not in the missions you take control of Raynor and wander around the Hyperion. You can go to the bar, hire some Mercs, go to the bridge and talk to Horner, etc . . . It's not FPS, but it's 3rd person instead. Like Halo.

Ghost was entirely 3rd person shooter, wasn't it? I remember looking at reviews and thinking how crap the concept of turning Starcraft into Halo or Halflife or similar thing, and ripping the RTS guts out of the franchise.
I haven't seen enough of SC2 to really get excited yet (specifically - a release date). I gave up hanging on when they released the gameplay trailer yonks before final release as a teaser. What you're describing is cute, but not really earth-shattering - it's out of combat RPG.
Have you heard of Spellforce? That probably comes closest, out of the games I've tried - but it's more RTS/RPG (using the right abilities, etc), rather than FPS skills based.

And besides, playing Warhammer 40k is like an improved Starcraft.
I disagree. Starcraft > Warhammer 40K any day.
Speaking if Starcraft, it's funny how much Bungie copied Starcraft when they made Halo. The UNSC is a lot like the Tarrans (duh) and Master Chief is like what Raynor would be in a Marine suit. The Elites are very similar to the Protoss. Energy blades, same type of leg structure, and even the exact type of hand structure (two fingers with a thumb on either side of the hand). Even the architecture and ship structure is very similar. And then there's the Flood which is like an exact copy of the Zerg! They even have an Overmind too!
