http://www.wowwiki.com/Gilneas "very, very, very interesting plans for Gilneas"
Worgen race anyone?
Apparently thanks to the latter, Jaina Proudmoore managed to convince a number of people from Gilneas to join her followers in their exodus to Kalimdor during the Third War. These people formed the Gilneas Brigade.
Do we have a way of transport to and from Gilneas now?... interesting. Especially in case the Gilneas that might have been turned into worgen still doesn't let anyone in. Just put on the good ol' Gilneas flag on the ship and set sails!
No one has seen a Gilnean for ten years.WoWRPG 20 Perhaps something dire has befallen Gilneas.LoC 97
Gilneas' current state is partly under speculation. It is not known if Genn Greymane is still alive and ruling Gilneas. The dwarven explorer, Brann Bronzebeard, has heard whispers from Kul Tiras that the Naga may have taken Gilneas,LoC 97 though there is no proof to support this.
Nage is involved now? Maybe the worgen (maybe) will be introduced in the mealstrom expansion (
http://www.wowhead.com/?blog=97325). It all starts with the naga getting a begger threath and it its decided to whipe them out or something. Meanwhile Branns theory is confirmed and Gilneas is now also a target for "cleaning". The wall is broken and the Alliance finds.... the worgen. A group of naga is found in the castle where the naga goes out once a day telling the worgen what to do (prepare and army so they can destroy the alliance and the horde). (neat illusion spell so the naga also looks like a worgen). The Worgen (still with their human mind) which the naga had to help them with (An army running crazy is an army falling apart).
Gilneas may be added to WoW in the future. It is not currently a part of the physical geography of the gameworld. On the other side of the Greymane Wall there is only a small, flat area, bordered by the ocean.
There IS room for expasion.
If you get a view of the inner side of the wall you may see that the inner gate is broken down from the inside.
The nage (if there have/had control of them) is losing control of the worgen?
Before the new Alliance race for the Burning Crusade was announced there were rumors that the inhabitants of Gilneas have turned into worgen and that worgen would be the new race and Gilneas their homeland. This rumor came around again in july 2009 due to some data files found in the game that feature female masks for worgen.
One of the best arguments, sadly it could also just be some goblins way of earning cheap gold :(
In response to a question at Blizzcon, Metzen mentioned that they had "forgotten" about Gilnea
Forgotten is proberly a code for "work in progress".... at least i hope so.
After Patch 3.1.0, the loading screen/ship route from Menethil to Theramore no longer crosses Gilneas.
Well finally i hated to look at that! oh yeah, right! back to topic: They ARE doing work related to Gilneas in SOME way!
