Why Your Religion?

Ignore him, he's obviously a troll. Even I agree to that.
Yeah, probably. Anyways, is this discussion is done? Doesn't seem like there's been much debate left, just arguments about whether someone was or wasn't insulted.
Pretty much. I think we were all done with this one awhile back, but wouldn't be the one to give up.

Agnosticism. I respect the possibility of a higher power. But there is no quantifiable evidence to justify the validity of any of the current world religions, and as such, I consider them to be nothing more than a vast waste of my time. Why conform to the rules of a deity that you can't prove exists? You say you hear God in your heart, or whatever, but maybe you're just schizophrenic, or maybe that voice is actually Satan screwing with your head. You don't KNOW for certain. And until I see credible, measurable evidence that a God exists, I will remain respectfully agnostic.
Agnosticism seems like atheism for chickens to me (No offense intended.)
By sciences definition we must recognize the possibility of a so called higher power, but even the idea that the universe was created by a sentient being at all has no real backing. I would imagine God as more of a cosmic force than a being, if he existed.

All of this, just pretend I said it.

The funny thing about philosophy and debate is, the people who actually live through what every great mind contemplates usually don't care to discuss about it. So go ahead and mutilate religion with logic and contemplation with other people who have given up while others see the face of the divine every day of their lives. You will never know what god is if you keep doing this.

Your not thinking, your debating it like egotistical panzies. To not think to yourself about God would make him disappear.

Just because something disappears doesn't mean it ceases to exist. It just means to not be seen anymore.

. Does a rogue log off their character when they use vanish?
And let me rephrase "Your not thinking" into "Your going beyond thinking and into heresy of yourself."

I think I'm more agnostic at the moment. I've looked into a few possibilities for religions: Paganism, Wicca, Druidism, Hindu. I just haven't found the right fit yet.
I was raised roman catholic, and didn't care for it. The whole "Blind Faith" thing, and having to set aside time every week to do my worship just didn't do it for me. I like to do my worship/prayer where and when I want to, whether that be in the shower, or in bed before I fall asleep.
What are you worshipping or praying to if you're agnostic?
There like politicians, very good at using vague words to cover all their bases.

Using disappear in that sense implies that God is visible when you're thinking about him. I was a Christian for most of my life, and I never visually saw God. And I question whether anyone ever has.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Well then, enough of that. This has got to be the most self-insulting thing anyone can possibly say as they regard religion. Quit !@#$ing with me. Of course no one sees God. You PERCEIVE him. Gravity is perceived, yet it still exists. Plus, that's just a stupid question. Your making me think your an idiot.
I hope you are enjoying picking apart my particular choice of words just to ignore my original post, therefore keeping the forum ball rolling until my original post is lost in the sands of time.

I'm a Christian. No denomination, just Christian. As far as I'm concerned my religion is the right one because I'm comfortable with it. I have no problems believing in it and so long as it keeps me going that's enough for me. The truth is that there is no way to ever
know
for sure. That's sort of the point from a religious perspective. Having faith in something is ideally more important than having no faith at all. We can all yell and scream and come to no real conclusion. So I'll just say this: Life is what you make of it. If you have faith then it is true to you. What you must ask yourself is whether or not you think your faith must be validated by others to be 'true'?
