Well I was playing the other day and did a 25 ToC raid, to my shock I was the only Death Knight in it. Well we down everything and I added the leader to my friends and got to talking to him for awhile after the raid.
Anyway the conversation got to a point he asked me why I play a Death Knight tank if I got a 80 Pally also.
Well I find the Death Knight play style very fitting to me, And i'm a bit of a geek for lore.
So anyway I wanted to know why you guys play Death Knights over other classes.

well pallies have the same problem of being noobish but they're so unbalanced even a mentally handicapped goldfish with fin rot and an owner who @#$%es in your fishbowl each morning could successfully tank with one so there's no providing evidence against the noob label there
standing out as a good player is the most rewarding reason for rolling DK

I have a Ret Pally as my mine and I still like my Death Knight. It is a unique play style plus it is nice to not have to worry about buffs and healing (while Ret shouldn't heal much a clutch Lay on Hands is useful sometimes) and just dps away.
I also prefer DK tanking to Pally faceroll tanking.

I have only played casters ( priest, shammy, balanced druid ) and thought I would like to give melee a try. Decided to try a DK out, didn't want to go feral kitty since I already have boomkin gear and 2 dps spec's is pointless imo.
Anyway DK are completely different play style with the CD management and rune management. It's just plain fun and you kind of need to know what's going on with your class, which is fun. That and Death Grip made leveling easy :D

I play a dk becaused i paid wotlk and i wanted to have all the new features that provided:) after played my dk for some level i really enjoyed the fact i have a mellee dps with spells and debuffs that can also be tank without using a shield.when i reached 80 i became tank since i already have 3 dps classes.i have a prot/holy pala but i prefer to tank with my dk(i have to say that tanking with pala is easier).dk tanking is harder than any other tank class(maybe not harder that druid i dont know exactly).also in my server there are not many dk tanks so i dont have problem with loots from raids.

My main is a druid feral dps / boomkin which is the first toon i ever rolled ( didn't realise i was supposed to go a huntard as a noob ^^ ) and although i had great fun with it when WOTLK came out i only made a DK to *try it* just out of sheer curiosity with no view of in time making it my main......however..... i loved the playstyle running around whacking things with a big 2h weapon and it was fun all the way up to level 80, where i realised alot and i mean ALOT of people HATED DK's =O as they were *op* only noobs played them blah blah blah.
Basicly from then on i made sure i knew everything i could about my class etc etc just to prove people wrong ^^ like alot of other people have too!
Also the class is totally unique, it's kind of like all the other classes rolled into 1.

Cool, All are great reasons to play this wonderful class, But do you guys have any storys. I have one...
One of my favorit moments as my DK was when I was doing naxx (back round the time around 3 or 4 weeks after ulduar opened) and we were on 25 man KT, story short I was the last standing and was able to lay the final blow on KT, shock the paladin back to life with my army knife, and got my 7.5 helm. was a good night...

It started out being that I wanted to play the DK starting area.
But my main is a priest on a PvP realm. I need a farming toon, and DK seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
Besides, there are things I can do with my DK that I can't do with my priest. I soloed Ramps on my priest at 80. I soloed Ramps on my DK while I could still gain exp from it, Nazan's obnoxious disease-immunity and all.
While I am first and foremost a healer, I also enjoy taking a break to dps with the DK once in a while...it's so much less pressure than healing. I can make a mistake in my rotation and nobody dies. Select the wrong spell when healing and someone probably will.

My main for the longest time was a warlock. Still love the class, wanted something new... rolled a priest (disc heals) ... absolutely fell in love with it..for a while...
Then... I just got so sick and tired of buffing people. I played some arena and BG with the priest..and unless I wanted to blow tons of gold on reagents, I had to use the single target buffs...
At any rate I switched up to the DK and I now tank/dps dual spec and havent looked back.
Oh, and yes, it's quite the feeling to be in a hodge podge of ilvl200 and ilvl226 gear and completely outplay DKs (tank or dps) in 232/245 ...
