You forgot the most important bit:
Crit chance
.
With that Nourish will beat HT even without HoTs, at least on average.

lol net, glad i could fill your morning with meaning
yup yup, nourish will have a 25% higher crit chance than HT which helps even further to decimate glyphed HT, which is without a doubt the worst glyph in game among druids and probably all classes
HT has its moments and the glyph not only fails at replacing nourish with HT but also closes all windows where HT was viable
those being...
the all powerful NS+HT macro
loatheb, starting the cast to land right as the healing phase starts followed by a WG and whatever else is needed
pre-nourish levels
...well i'm sure there're at least 2 more situations that it's useful for
nourish, 1+ hots, no glyph = (2035 + (SP * 0.871))
*
1.2
*
1.04
*
1.1
*
1.06

Glyph of Healing Touch is pretty amazing for healing in P3 anub in 25 heroic.

the problem is glyphed it's the exact same cast time as nourish but inferior so long as there's 1 hot on the target which is just about always, less crit chance than nourish, and also removes your emergency NS+HT
also note that glyphed, it's the same cast time as the GCD and speccing into
Naturalist
will effectively waste 5 talent points as it would reduce the cast time below the GCD. any haste that would reduce the GCD would reduce the cast and nourish equally

To be fair, the HT glyph probably has leveling without access to Nourish in mind. I found while healing dungeons before level 80 I was wishing I had Nourish.
It might be the same reason there's a Glyph of Claw, but for Resto. Everyone knows Mangle > Claw, but that isn't a very useful piece of information at level 30.
However I assume Netstormer's post is about 80 and yes it would be stupid to use the HT glyph at 80, same as it would be stupid to still be using the Claw glyph at that point.

I personally agree with the OP... it's wasted almost all of the time in pve.
However, I do think there is a place for a .5 seconds or less direct heal (that is not dependant on having hots on a target) in pvp.

Just look at Glyph of Healing Touch like Glyph of Claw.
It is an amazing leveling glyph. It's awesome as long as you use Claw / HT but at some point you simply get the better skill (Mangle / Nourish) and the glyph becomes completely obsolete.

As far as being a kvling glyph it sucks still. I rather use Regrowth while healing lowbie instances. Regrowth costs less mana, has a higher crit chance (talented aswell), and has a much better glyph. Not to mention Regrowth is a Hot and direct heal.
It does have a longer cast time though.
I'm with everyone else. The HT glyph is for if you want faux-Nourish before you hit 80.

Wasn't Glyph of HT actually kinda good compared to Nourish before it got it's fix just before 3.1? I seem to recall Nourish being fairly bad at that time.
I miss the old dreamstate build debates :(

on anub 3rd phase you can use regrowth, probably will help more then HT becouse of the hot (You know the people are gonna take dmg so the hot will let you focus on other people)
Ht will heal them for that second but your gonan have to come back, regrowth can increase the time that you have to come back.
Combined with a rejuvenate the target wont be taking much dmg at all. So takes longer to set up (if you use rej) But you wont have to heal that person again for a while.

even 1+ hots makes nourish superior without sacrificing an oh %^&* button so while i do grasp the idea behind GoHT on anub P3 i don't feel it's worth it for an extra ~1k heal for the ~2-8% of the time you don't have a hot rolling
even with 0 hots nourish is only slightly behind glyphed HT but has a 25% higher crit chance

Glyph of HT is very useful in PvP, I swore by it when I arena'd. Glyph of HT is more useless than Glyph of Claw for raid healing (unless you need a weak, ineffecient direct heal).

In 25 TotGC, when healing Anub's Penetrating Cold's in the third phase, you rarely have time to HoT your targets so this is the one place where the Glyph of HT has its use.
When I healed it in 10 i had hots rolling on all targets anyways.... as i was the raid/penetrating cold healer.
My rotaion was rejuv on all, wild growth targeting a lower one and ready with a swiftmend for one person and a nourish for the other. I'm not sure about 25 since I've not healed that.

Why would I want to have a HoT on the target? In p3 Anub I want to heal as little as possible while keeping the guy alive, right? Nourish will be perfectly fine in getting the players health up enough so that he will survive that PC tick. Nourish also casts more then fast enough, there are a whoopin 3 seconds time to react. Why would I want to use glyphed HT there?

Glyphed HT is only for people under level 80, Nourish is better but you wont get it before lvl 80. Glyphed HT replace Nourish while leveling. No utility for the glyph at level 80.
