Hunters are fast levelers, but they can be the most boring class to level. Unlike most other classes which need different abilities for different situations, hunters basically have the same rotation for everything they fight while leveling. What is your pet? I've found that whenI'm leveling a hunter I want a pet that I like the look of rather than what does more damage. I mean do you really want a pet cat (for example) when you prefer the look of a wind serpent? I would suggest that you keep pushing yourself to play your hunter, because you might get a new ability at your next level which will motivate you to play for longer.

I ran into the same problem around that level,So what i did was went after lvl's/areas 3 lvls higher wich was a challenge.
I also did Bg's for a little change when things got boring.

When I was leveling my hunter, I got bored around there as well, and bg'ed at 39 for a couple months to change it up. I ended up getting all the level 39 pvp gear, and really enjoyed it. Not to mention, when i went back to leveling with all the pvp blues, mobs my own level were a snap (and even some 3-5 levels over me were not extremely hard).
I just got bored with my hunter again at level 70 in the Borean Tundra until he got deleted (see my Soooooooo Retarded thread in the PVE forum) and figured if I could just gut it out and quest grind I would be ok.

I've been leveling my main (I just have this toon and a bank alt) always playing MM spec since TBC came out. I never tested BM: my first time -ever- was after WOTLK was released. I specced BM for 1 week while hunting Loque'Nahak. After I succesfully tamed him I re-specced MM.
I simply *loved* leveling 1->80. Of course there are times when you feel the need to spit at your screen, mostly around level 50... But overall I really loved all the experience of exploring new zones and moving around. I leveled 1->30 all "alone" trying to learn the game mechanics, terminology, environment, community... It was hard but fun. From 31 to 70 I used a free quest guide online to know the best route and avoid losing time on trash quests (low xp or bad rewards).
From 70 to 80 I used wowhead to find the best quest rewards (blues) until 80. Then it was a matter of daily quests, upgrading to epics (BoE and heroics) and so on.
Or class is not the best in terms of DPS and is one of the worst when it's time to PvP. But I like it. Great survivability and -at least for me- a lot of fun.

Q: Why is it boring?
A: because you don't enjoy it. Perhaps playing a hunter is just not your thing.
If you really, really, really want to level a hunter I would suggest using Jame's leveling guide (or another, but I myself have used Jame's with the add-on). Seems like the most painless way to level a class you don't enjoy.
