Mograine or Redpath?
And remember, as epic as the Ashbringer was, we're talking about families here.
Spoilers ahead, if you haven't played through Vanilla WoW yet.
And now...
Personally, I find the Redpath Family more epic, in a nitty-gritty, in the fray kind of way. How about you guys?

Mograine would win hands down! Provided theres no betrayal

Well, the Mograine family was built around the lore of them being the savior's of Azeroth and defeating the scourge. Honestly, it'll be next to impossible, in my opinion, to really compete with a family like that. Assuming your talking about who has the best lore anyway.

Mograine
You never even hear about the Redpath's after Classic WoW

The Redpath's are the most down on their luck family in the entire history of Azeroth.
Myself I prefer the story of Windrunners: one vanishes after helping to save Azeroth in the 2nd war, then is lost as Draenor explodes and portals open everywhere. The eldest sister fails to protect Silvermoon and ends up being a banshee for months, used as a weapon against her own people, till with the help of a few Dreadlords, she gets her body back and crys vengence on the Scourge and Arthas.
The youngest helps to save the Queen of Life from the orcs, then becomes an ambassador for the races along with the red haired mage, marries said mage, has twins and runs into the last member of the family, the cousin who helps the Black Dragon flight create the Twilight flight, and is killed by a Draenei priestess and Vereesa, who was getting revenge because he tried to kidnap her twin children.

Well, I think a major lore family is no contest.
But I do like the story of the Redpaths. They remind me of the family in Van Helsing for some reason... o_O

But the thing about the Redpaths is they gave it their all even though they didn't win.
I mean, in the Ashbringer comics, Mograine is portrayed as almost invincible (except to betrayal), while the Redpaths fought past the betrayal, until they couldn't fight anymore. And then they lost the battle.
It's much more epic in my opinion.
It's like Achilles, superhuman warrior, unable to to be harmed except in his one weakness, versus Hector, a normal human who fought against this superhuman tooth and nail, not backing down, not running away, even though he ended up losing and his body desecrated.
I find Hector to be the more epic hero
because
he lost, and more specifically, because of the way he lost. He was doomed by the gods themselves, but he kept fighting.

Mograine, though I have to say I quite liked the Redpaths. Other than Joseph, that is.

You kiddin'? Joseph is great! :P We redeemed him, remember?

The Redpaths are much cooler in my opinion, but there's no doubt that the Mograines are more important to the lore.

Of course they're more important, but I find they're more epic, so to speak... :P
I mean, I love Alexandros Mograine, but Darion just doesn't interest me, and Renault was a coward.
And of course the Redpaths are just plain cool. :P
Like I said, whole Hector, Achilles, Illiad and all that.
