Well i have not tanked using a dk but because of the DK Fever after WOTLK launch i have been in many groups with them. My tank is a warrior. From what i have seen, and again this is just my 2 cents.
Death Knight - Great aoe threat off a initial pull moderate single target threat
Warrior - Inital multi mob pull threat is a issue. Once threat is established then your fine but you need 3-4 seconds to build it.
Pally - Best aoe threat of all, single target is also very good.
So to answer your question
aoe tank - DK
Single target tank - Warrior

I tanked Black Temple as a Prot Warrior.
I'm currently tanking with a DK in 10-ToC and 10-Ulduar.
Warrior has better single target threat gen, better single target snap aggro.
DK has better aoe threat gen, better aoe snap aggro.
The one thing a DK has over a warrior, is a DK does not need to take damage to maintain aggro. They could take zero damage and still pump out threat like nothing is wrong. If that happened to a warrior, like if they dodge/parried too many times in a row or are shielded so they don't take damage, then they don't generate rage, become rage starved, and their threat gen drops off significantly.
Warrior is a better MT whereas DK's are better OT's. Not to say either one cant do the other, just saying if your playing the class to its strengths, that's what they would be.
I prefer to be an OT, tanking multiple things at once. Its more difficult to be an OT, i used to get bored tanking as an MT on my prot warrior.

you can't compare a lead apple to a rotten orange so blatantly and expect a clear answer mate
"best" is a relative term as i'm sure if the word wasn't used it was implied and would soon be said
and to clarify,
pallies deal 1.43% threat on all non holy abilities and 2.717% (soon to be 2.574%) threat on all holy spells while righteous fury is up
while warriors in defensive stance, druids in bear form, and death knights in frost presence deal 2.0735% threat
also pallies only deal superior aoe threat if they can get the mobs to attack them in the 1st place and monopolize on their reflective damage, as a bear i've inadvertently maintained aggro on aoe trash pulls over a pally till everything was dead so if the pally doesn't get hit the pally doesn't gen a lot of threat and the pally can't reaquire aggro over another tank

the pally threat nerf is almost unnoticeable, they go from 2.717 to 2.574 threat on holy damage while other tanks are 2.0735 on all damage
and the touched by the light change from 30% stamina to 60% strength is almost no change at all
a pally with 3k stam will usually have about 1.5k strength so 30% stam is the same as 60% strength, the supposed "nerf" in this case is more to keep everyone fooled by changing how they describe something without actually changing its value by any noticeable amount
