I was lucky enough to get into the beta for the original WoW. the only reason i have ANY interest in this game, is because it IS Warcraft, not an MMO. the MMO factor just addicts me to it lol.
I honestly believe that they are doing what they can to balance the game between a challenge / open ended content for ALL forms of gamers (casuals / Hardcore / Families, Etc) but tend to lean more toward easier content for a larger player base.
One thing that really, REALLY @#$%es me off though, is when i read the damn WoW general forums and some jackass posts a %^&*! thread about something being nerfed or buffed unnecessarily and insinuates that Blizzard's developer team doesnt play the game or clearly favors one class. if they favored one class over the other, this game would've tanked a long time ago and would not have been the incredible success it is today. Blizzard has had incredible balance with their previous games (Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft, Rock 'n Roll Racing :-P ) so why would they suddenly lose all knowledge or drive to keep balance within their largest game? dont tell me profit because they already make enough of it as it is.

well i think it a bit too early to say raid wise. But wotlk leveling was really easy, it is was almost stupid easy. So yes i think blizzard taken it down a bit too much.
As the old guy post above here, i also played for day one. Did like vanilla but i can agree it was a bit hard to level up and time consuming.
In BC it was easier made and according to me, perfect balance. Not so hard that casual got no chance, not so easy hard core raiders got bored.
Then the patch came 3.0 and it was lol easy, but that is not that hard to realise because alot of wotlk functions and talent tree was installed. On one night my guild went from RoS 50% to illidan downed. So it was really a huge different.
To answer the postmaker question. Yes the game is gonna get easier in a whole. Ulduar will perhaps be challenging but then you must use the hard core modes.
My regret is mostly in wotlk the heroics, most of them are really stupid easy and the other one is slightly harder. Same with 25 man raids, many of the 25 mans raids are easier than their 10 mans versions. So the word Heroics has lost it touch in wotlk.
Heroics are meant to mean hard mode, not loot mode.
