Hey wowheads! :)
I dinged 80 about a month ago, and so far endgame content as a hunter has been pretty disappointing. As soon as you learn how to DPS decently, all challenge is pretty much gone and the game is reduced to pressing the buttons in the right order basically.
Anyway, thought I'd try some PVP before I give up on this game. As I never really focussed on this aspect of WoW I am absolutely horrible at it, but that's a good thing. I like a challenge. I have a lot of questions like which stats are important, how to counter certain classes' abilities, how to setup some useful keybinds (I am running out of keys! lol). I found some useful info in the stickies on the hunter forums, but will probably have to start a thread about some of these topics regardless.
First things first, though. I need some resilience. I have been grinding some BG's and heroics, and now have 75k honor, 168 emblems of triumph and 713 stone keeper's shards. I've been waiting with spending all of that because I was under the impression that I would be able to buy relentless gear with them once the new season starts. I've just learned I will need frost emblems for those, which for me take too long to acquire since I'm not in a real raiding guild, and with pugging you do more waiting than actual playing.
I also thought the new season would start this week but apparently I'm wrong. Next week I guess. But I don't feel like waiting any longer because I just get no fun out of PVE any more.
So, on to my question: Would it be really stupid to start buying my gear now? Will I be able to get better items for my honor next week? Also, any suggestions on which pieces of gear I should prioritize, or maybe avoid?
If you need to know, my hunter is
this one. Any suggestions for my other PVP related questions are also welcome.
Thanks in advance!
