What's your hardware?

Hey folks.
I'm curious about other people's hardware, and the impact upgrading it has had on their game's performance. What are you running with, and what sort of fps do you get during encounters?
I often get told that I don't do as much dps or generate as much threat as I should considering the gear on my warrior, and I think latency may have something to do with it, as I often dip below 10fps on boss fights and my OmniCC counters stop being useful (go from like, 3 to not there anymore due to lag) and I truly understand my rotations (I realize I can't prove that, but I feel I do).
My second question is that I've just made a sizable upgrade; do you think there will be a notable difference?
I mean... looking at them there will be an obvious difference, I just want to know if anybody has ever made a leap this large and saw underwhelming or dramatic performance changes in playing WoW.
Current Machine:
Windows XP Media Center (gag)
Athlon 3500+ 64 processor
2gb DDR3200 RAM
160gb hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 4550
New Machine:
Windows Vista Home (still gag)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.3GHz processor
6GB PC2-6400 DDR2 RAM
640gb SATA II hard drive
VisionTek Radeon HD 4850
(Nobody asked, but editing this in: 22in widescreen LCD)
Thanks for reading/responses.

Don't get me started on my current system!
Current:
Windows 7 Release Candidate
Intel Pentium D 2.6Ghz
1GB Ram (><)
240GB Hard Drive
nVidia GeForce 6200 LE
New PC:
Windows 7 Release Candidate
Intel Core i7 2.66Ghz
3GB DDR3 PC3-15000 Tri-Channel
1TB Hard Drive
XFX Radeon HD 4870 x2
my new PC is in the middle of being built, have my case, motherboard and hard drive the rest of my stuff should arrive tomorrow or wednesday :D
On my current system, im lucky if i manage 10 FPS, and thats inside (caves/instance)
I have high hopes for my new pc, expecting atleast 30FPS :P

Windows XP Professional
Intel Pentium IV 3.4Ghz
1 GB RAM
200GB HD
XFX Geforce6800GT 256MB
So yours isn't that bad tbh @ OP :P
Also, latency is not the same as FPS. Latency lag is the time it takes your PC to contact the server and get a response, FPS is just frames per second. Latency is based on your internet connection and your provider, so upgrading to a better PC won't help here.
Your upgrade should get you better FPS, though, as it is dependant on your CPU and GPU, and your memory, which you all upgraded.

tip of the day: If you buy a prebuilt "PC",
you
won't see a huge difference unless your harddrive really needed to be defragged. The engine WoW uses is as good as icecream in the oven.
new machine I listed is a barebones kit, upgraded to a better power supply and a better video card. I happen to have an extra license for Vista laying around, so I'm usin' it.
I'm optimistic that what you're saying won't be true. Considering that Wow.exe often used 1.2gb+ of my 2gb of memory on the old machine (while trying to run Vent or TeamSpeak as well on top of it) I know I should at least see *some* performance upgrade.
Also, the video card upgrade was quite a big deal, from what I've read.... the HD 4550 was the bargain bin card while the 4850, while inexpensive, has gotten very good reviews from gamers on budgets.
We'll see!
@MuseCitizen:
With that machine, especially considering the CrossFire'd graphics cards, I wouldn't be suprised to hear you get 70+fps. =)

Old Rig:
(I threw this away about a year ago so I'm not too sure about exact specs)
Motherboard:
Not sure of brand, built in graphics and sound processors
RAM:
512 MB SDRAM, later upgraded to 1 GB
HDD:
80GB
Graphics:
Integrated in the Motherboard
Sound:
As above
OS:
Windows 2000, later upgraded to Windows XP
Screen:
17" LCD
I was usually around 10-15 FPS, topping off at 25 playing WoW.
New Rig:
(The one I'm currently using, since about a year)
Motherboard/Case:
Dell XPS 420.
Processor:
Intel E8300 Core 2 Duo Processor (2.83GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB cache)
RAM:
4 GB DDR2
HDD:
500 GB SATA
Graphics:
ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
Sound:
Integrated
Screen:
22" LCD and for watching movies a 42" Full HD LCD.
OS:
Windows Vista Home Premium (waiting for Windows 7)
Keyboard/Mouse:
Logitech MX 3200
Other:
Bluray Player/DVD Burner
In Dalaran right now in a crowded area and all video settings on Ultra: 20-25 FPS.
In Darnassus with noone around and all settings on Ultra, in some little house: ~200 FPS.
In Raids usually around 70 FPS.
All this is using a heavily modified UI and about 70 Addons.
This was sort of the kind of thing I was very much hoping to hear. =)

CPU: Intel Q6700 (wow is running on cores 2 &3, away from windows)
How do you specify which cores WoW will run on? Methinks I would like to do that later today when I'm getting set up!
