You answered your own question. Honor farming. And the occasional facerolling of unorganized masses.

Alot of what made BGs fun is now gone. I used to queue up for AV because I enjoyed the battleground.. now I use it to farm honor, all the fun is gone. Arena/world PvP is the only interesting PvP aspect of WoW now.

the purpose of bg's it is to kill some time before your raid starts.

This is precisely the kind of ideas that destroy all the funs in battlegrounds. People joining for fun are usually two other than yourself per 10 games. Honor farming, Honor farming, (...)... Neverending grinds of honor that cause ridiculous losses (field of strife, middle of ab, flag eots...), unending games (i have done a 10-10 wsg with ME alone in their flag base. 9 of our team in middle. All alliance in middle.)... where are the players that actually join because it is fun?
This is one of the reasons why i enjoy a non-twink low level bracket. People usually are there to have fun. I see a lot more cooperation, no rage in losses (sometimes, altough... much less than in 80, however), a lot of noobish and veteran moves, overall... And people still join the bg for no objectives other than fun. They might want some honor to get medallions, maybe, but those are rare (inexistant, really, with Heirlooms...).

Now that you can buy pvp gear with emblems, and pvp weapons can only be bought with arena points, aside from honor farming, what is the point of the Bgs?
I enjoy some random pvp from time to time, but what's the point now?

Well I enjoy bgs, I think that if you play the bg how it was intended to be played it gets really competitive and enjoyable, especially if its even teams (gear, skill, etc) and you get the same people on both sides a few times.
But the best answer to your question is imo the best one and also another question: Whats the point of playing wow?

Lmao! Don't you realize, a year ago, forum posts were the exact opposite? "Bring back world pvp!" "Why does everyone need to BG for PvP, if we don't like Arena?"
Listen everyone, Blizzard's goal is to provide balance to all areas of PvP. They're trying to balance the rewards and incentives of World PvP, Arena, and the Battlegrounds. That way people will naturally choose what they most enjoy and not be gimped, making every player happy.
However, Blizzard is quite aware that the Battleground rewards are subpar. They are considering adding items to Battlegrounds, but they don't want them to be easy to farm like before, 'welfare epics'. I encourage everyone taking a look at this thread to also look at the
Blizz wants to revamp the PvP system
thread.

I hope your not serious thinking that Blizzard wants to balance PvP.
This is one of the most ignorant things I've seen in quite a while. Of course they want to balance it. Doing so, however, is very, very hard.
Exactly. Right now the balance shifts toward world pvp, which is what Blizzard focused on in wotlk. The balance will never be perfect either, but rather a constant process of change. (constant change? lol)

I do not like the idea of being able to buy PvP gear with marks from PvE. If anything, it takes more away from BGs. I think Blizzard should really consider lowering the Honor cost of PvP gear and cranking the cost to buy it with Tokens. If this is done I feel you will see a major increase in BG participation.

What would you see is guilds/players making massive premades (that are not possible on some realms due to low player base) that will be 0HKO everything non-premade. Epsecially on WSG which will become just undoable without better premade from your side. That was the case in BC, in Lich King, I have never met a premade (at least not full), everyone just play for playing, not steamrolling everything.
What I would like to see from tokens is dissapearing from low-lvl bracket gear, it is suited maybe for 1% population that twink, make it so you can actually get some gear from pvp on alts without spending 15 hours to get one piece of equipment.
