I currently play on my laptop which I've had since 2006...on Dial-up. Works great except city raids DC me as do things like the Rookery and all the little spiders in AN. And Dalaran is a crapshoot, though works well in the middle of the night. Oh and I can't even do 10-man raids. It's really the dial-up, though.
This is the same EXACT problem i have. The worst part is that comcast and DSL is not offered in my area, so i'm stuck with using dial up! : /
