Honestly, throwing out 10k+ lavabursts in ele spec, and people trying to gank you as resto and you never die. Had a rogue try to ambush me once in icecrown. I threw up earth shield + riptide and lold at him....he eventually got bored and ran away.

If any of these is wearing any resi gear you may forget about hitting them the knockback.
Why does resilience have anything to do with knocking someone back? I sure hope you don't think resilience = resistance do you?

The best thing about shaman is that people don't understand our skills and abilities. Or they don't even know we have certain abilities. But they get the benefits of them. Most people don't know we just increased their dps, their regen, or armor. But without it, many times a group will have wiped. So I just sit there quietly and relish in the fact that I do my part.
Or at least I like to think I carry my weight...
The versatility in raids in undeniable. No matter the spec. And IMO, shaman need to be more popular. Since this is in the shaman forums, I'll just go out on a limb and say, PALLY WHAT?

One healing skill you should completely forget about after speccing Resto is Lesser Healing wave.
One thing you should never do after speccing Resto is forget any of your healing spells because they all have their place.

No clue how exactly blizz coded that, thats just confirmed fact Thunderstorm knockback works only on pvp scrubs. Which means it doesnt work 90% of the time used. Dont remember what is the message when they arent knocked back, resist sounds close.
I have had this problem and I now I know why. Often I was left scratching my head after getting ganked by a rogue, thunderstorming only to have him still there stunlocking me to death.
It's nothing to do with whether someone has resilience gear or not.
It's entirely to do with the game engine. It is an issue with every single skill that uses knockbacks that anything from lag or a pixel-large rise in the terrain will prevent the knockback from occurring. It was these kind of problems that led Blizzard to disable Heroic Leap during Beta, and it was these problems that had people complaining when they lowered the travel arc on the knockback (thus increasing the chance of these terrain snags)
And for all the LWH maniacs, check
this thread
. I think it summs it up pretty well.
I think you linked the wrong thread. That one is about how border-line useful Improved Healing Wave is.
Oh, and you quoting EJ without understanding the material or the context of the research that you're reading.
