If I'm not already OOM or very close to it, I heal the group up before drinking.
If I would have to drink twice in order to heal the group, I alert them to this and ask them to please eat as it will let us move faster. Most players have absolutely no problem with this.
Locks are given love on the lifetapping. I'll happily Renew them (or hit the ranged guys with Circle if others are below 100% also), the mana I expend to replace that life it is far less than the mana they get from it =)

Not quite sure how your teams work, Nick, if you're the only one who drinks when:-
everyones low in mana
What are these other guys using to cast their spells?
My Bad, I meant me being low on mana, and the rest of the party being low on health.
Healing between pulls is just common sense. It's far faster for you to just top them off quickly, and do a quick mana-drink.
Oh, I do that anyway. What I actually meant is better illustrated below
Of course, it's the healer's job to keep everyone's health above zero when they don't have the means to do it themselves: in combat. So if there's unavoidable raid-wide damage to heal, the healer will have to handle it.
Same goes for the warlock, if he really needs to lifetap during combat, it's part of the healer's job to make sure he won't die doing that.
However, when out of combat, it's everyone's job to put some thought and effort in speeding the run.
I don't expect anyone to pay for my mana drink, as you do, but I expect everyone to bring food to speed up the run, just like I do.
Otherwise, a "between pull" break might look like this:
-Boss dies, Healer is at 10% of his mana pool
-Healer rez a DPS
-Healer cast a PoH and a couple of Renew, so he's not drinking yet.
-Healer is at 0% Mana
-Healer has to drink for 30 secs
I'd expect it to go more like this:
-Boss dies, Healer is at 10% of his mana pool
-Healer rez a DPS, everyone sit down to eat
-Healer mana pool is at 8%, he starts drinking right away instead of casting spells
-Healer drinks for 20 secs
Your 45s "DPS don't care about a thing" break shrinks down to a more reasonable 25s "Let's all act like we want it to go faster" break.
Anyway, thanks for all the insightful thoughts and comments. :)
