screw a raid, i'll solo the whole godamn thing >.>
all heroics = overfarmed by paladins (ok, i exaggerated)
I get more than enough mana from SoW and JoW when solo farming, (or when my party wipes without me, happened before)
no need for that

Druid tanks have about the same hit intake as a paladin's block intake
i wouldn't exactly say that a paladin's main form of threat is holy shield
at kara entry level
consecration = 150 DPS
SoR/SoV = 150 DPS
holy shield only occurs every 4-5 secs on average (assuming 50% block and 2 sec swing timer and 2.4 with fury war debuff) and does ~210 damage
much less than consecration and seals
ofc, this is merely theory
paladins have by far the highest avoidance as the raid progresses and get less damage overall then a warrior or druid in the long run
which makes up for the low HP

paladin tanks cannot just stack block as their primary avoidance stat
oh, ok, now your thread makes more sense
it's clearer where you're coming from now
maybe then, have paladin's parry trigger holy shield as well instead?
or make the holy shield damage a periodic damage

150 DPS for your consecrate and sov means 300 TPS
righteouse fury = 1.9x TPS
I personally think shield spec shouldn't require 5 in redoubt to take. Then, make stoicism reduce the chance you have to be silenced by 10/20% instead of reducing the chance your spells can be dispelled by 15/30%.
Then buff that bloody spell warding talent - reduce our spell damage taken by 5/10% instead of 2/4%.
that's what I'd propose to buff tankadins.
