What happened to the cool armor?

In my opinion the armor blizzard makes these days is oversized, too colourful, and as far as WotlK goes; made out of leather. I absalutley hated the WotlK armor. For mages it all looked like *!@#ty worn leather, in different sizes. Perhaps they were trying to bring a barbaric look? But I miss the lv 60 epic armor, and stuff from SM. Like "Raging Berserker Helm." I hate most of the new armor. Does anyone agree?

Nordic Theme. It's the 'in' theme for WOTLK. Get over it.

OL gear was high fantasy, NR is gothic fantasy themed...still no excuse for blizz having 50 versions of the same armor template though.

I agree, at level 60 blizzard never did this. Blizz has just become lazy in making new armor.

Non-tier BC gear made players look like clowns. Blizz didn't want this to happen again so they applied a darker/more realistic look to the gear so players don't have to run around with an orage helm, turquoise shoulders, and a pink sword.
i liked being colorful...

Honestly? 100% original armor isn't that close to the top of my priority list. I'd much rather have the artists over at Blizzard to work on unique boss skins, item models, and dungeon designs. I have a nagging suspicion that they are working on Icecrown Citadel, and paying only half attention to the current projects.

Yes......We'll all see in an instance
"I thought you were a T9 Tank"
"I am. But this gear looks cooler so i wear this"
Please.....get over the looks. Its about the stats and if they can do their job.

This.
There was far more variety in models in OL and Vanilla, or at least the textures were different.

I liked the look of Outland gear most, because it was so high fantasy. I mean, compare TBC gear's numerous different skins to Northrend's same models for most gear. It's just boring.

I remember back when LK first came out, my hunter was in T5 gear with a few epics from BT. I refused to replace any of my gear except the bow until I hit 80, and even then I didn't want to just cause this armor is hideous and they just use the same model but recolored whether it be a Green or Epic.
Which is why BC is still a better game than LK, when you got better armor, it showed you had better armor, not walking around looking like everybody else.....

Tier 10 better be the best we've seen yet, I mean its coming from friggin ARTHAS' lair. I was looking through my atlas loot the other day at the different old tier sets and man a lot of them were awesome looking, one of my fav's far away is the druid tier 6 and the old rogue tiers.
I'm hoping they go all out with tier 10, different faction looks AND each class has its own armor not like tier 9 (which I like don't get me wrong).

I like the armor. It fits the theme. If the helm/cloak is ugly, hide it. If the chest is ugly, wear a tabbard.
