the LT glyph is used for all current warlock PvE specs. since the buff durations was increased to 40seconds it's even good for the very mana-efficient 0/13/58.

What would be the spirit minimum for LifeTap to actually be better than Immolate?
For example i have 443 spirit (+89sp) and i found my dps drop when using LT over Immo.
Many of the locks i see using it have over 600 spirit. Since those two glyphs are close to one another and one is dependant on spirit, you can't just blantly say LT is better, always.

Nha there was no clipping, i may have let it off by a couple seconds here and there due to not being used to use it (yes i am using a timer). Regardless, there has to be a value where they are equal and anything above that makes LT better.
Of course at 770, there is no doubt LT would be best :-)

So apparently, no one knows this.
Many will give a straight answer, LT without even knowing. Very nice.
I guess it all came down to someone hearing it from someone who heard it from someone else that got all excited over a 40sec duration.
Would be nice if somebody could find the math to answer that simple yet all important question when choosing a glyph...
Based on totally subjective observation,i am currently assuming Immo is better than LT when spirit is around 445.

lol, if you're gonig to be like that then you can go and do it yourself. run simcraft tests for a varying range of spirit levels both with and without the GoLT/GoImmo.
the point is that the worth of the immo glyph is also tied to gear. it depends on your levels of SP. this is why a definitive answer is difficult to give. at all gear levels the ratio between SP and spirit should be reasonably similar in that as your gear gets better you SP goes up but so does your spirit. this would lead to the LT glyph being better at all level 80 gear levels.
so, if you have found
through methodical testing
that immo is better for you then i would suggest that you have some pretty imbalanced gear and have probably been making some poor choices.
if you want to see what glyph is best for
your
gear set then go and run a simcraft for your gear but don't start getting snippy with us because general advice doesn't fit with your own crappy gear.

My gear is very well balanced around hit, haste and crit and i pull 6-7k with it.

Spirit value will greatly vary from one lock to another and that doesn't necessarly mean poor gear choices.
Unfortunaltely i don't know how simcraft works but i would have expected someone like you to at least verify before giving a flat answer. LT is not best in all situations. There is a treshold and thats what i was asking.

ok, since you've been so rude i don't know why i've gone to this trouble to help you but here it is.
your gear goes into simcraft and i run a 10000 iteration test with both immo and LT glyphs.
immo = 9705
LT = 9731
LT wins even with such very low spirit. it's probably a result of raid buffs (divine spirit and kings) meaning it barely takes any personal spirit to make the LT glyph a good choice.
can we lay this to rest now? can we accept that the general advice, while not applicable to extremes of gearing,
does
cover all reasonable situations?
