What dose "A.L" on Great Sword of Brotherhood stand for?

Some speculate that Quel'Zaram and Ashkandi are two names for the same sword. However in the RPG they are two separate weapons.
Due to the sword being called, "Greatsword of the Brotherhood", and the initials A.L. on its hilt, this weapon is believed to be the legendary sword of Anduin Lothar, the late Regent Lord of Azeroth and Champion of King Llane. He was killed by Orgrim Doomhammer during the closing battles in the Second War. This sword is now found in the possession of Nefarian in Blackwing Lair, presumably due to his father Neltharion's involvement in the ending of the Second War. However, considering it's appearance, it seems to have been modified or corrupted by Nefarian or one of his underlings.
Surprisingly, while Monster Guide gives a description of the sword, it makes no connection at all to Anduin Lothar.
