As a ret pally I 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 with a rogue friend, we've both been playing since release (I've moved around classes a lot but he stuck with rogue), and he is great. A few times I try to play with other rogues, but I simply can't. Most Rogues suck worse than huntards, in fact I've met many rogue who've told me shadowstep daggers does more damage in raid situations than combat swords, then when they loose to me by a good 2-3% on the DPS meters they whine ret pallies are OP, go figure.

kids... your telling me how great your rouge is.... so i have a fast question.. how long does it take you to put your rouge on? because rouge is make-up... if your talking about a ROGUE then your just wrong... how is a rogue great? a rogues a squishie form of a fury warrior..sure you can sap... but what happens when that sap breaks? speaking from a tanks point of view i rather have CC that can be renewed... what also bothers me with rogue's is when they pull aggro just being stupid.. for example they walk around a corner and forget a mobs there then vanish wiping the group when it coulda been just them hitting the floor... or even better rogues that unlock the chest and dont even roll on it just open it and take the contents that arent green and beyond... its like hey dont we roll on that? gah-rogue-pointless dps class
mage>rogue
Rogues arguably have the highest single target DPS capabilities in the game. You complain about Sap not being renewable CC? Have you considered that maybe if you can't kill 1-2 mobs in 45 seconds that your group just doesn't have enough DPS? I play a rogue myself, and my friend a feral druid. Our gear is about equal, and I rarely if ever pull aggro from him, unless I pop Adrenaline Rush for max damage. I know some rogues (as well as many other classes) are completely PvP oriented and refuse to use aggro dumps like Feint, but the problem could also be that you need to step it up and hold aggro as the tank, that's why you're there.

As far as dps classes don't have as their objective to put out as much dmg as possible, then I'll take any. Most of the rogues I met, have been good. But I hate those ones, who ask for dmg meters after every trash pull. For me only the % does matter, and it doesn't change after 2 mobs. And aim shouldn't be to always pull aggro off the tank.

There is an over supply of rogues on most servers as I'm sure you already know. For example when I'm organising a heroic instance the only time I'll take two rogues is when a geared prot pally is tanking and cc is of less importance. Other times, I'm going to take only one rogue leaving more spots for additional crowd control and/or utility classes (as in just about any other dps class).
Ask yourself this: do rogues bring any of these abilities?
- dps buffs, totems, blessings. mana/health returns
- off-healing
- ressurection
- wipe recovery (divine intervention, ankh, soulstones)
- decurse/cleanse/dispel
- resistance buffs/auras/totems
- heroism/bloodlust
- off-tanking abilities (possibly yes in the case of a rogue using evasion)
- food/water/healthstones
- trap/polymorph/banish/mind control/enslave
THAT'S why you bring other classes and not additional rogues my friends.
A DRUID CAN DO ALL OF THAT :D
Everyone should reroll druid and only do 5-man druid runs.

The "we already have a rogue" argument is mostly used out of ignorance. It's mostly people who don't understand the mechanics of the game. For example, two saps in Steamvaults or Shattered Halls is very good but for other instances sap isn't good at all. The problem is I see people saying they don't want another rogue in the wrong circumstances because they're ignorant.
Also, crowd control is a crutch 3/4 of the time. It isn't necessary but helps when the dps is low or the tank is poor. A good example of this is a warlock in Mechanar. Is it necessary? Not in the slightest. Does it make Mech easier? Only if the group is poor and low-geared. Now, there are instances where cc is integral (e.g., Shattered Halls) but I've even seen drood tank SH without any CC so ...

Fury Warrior in Plate would be a better choice in my opinion than a second Rogue, require less heals.
That comment gave me a chuckle because last week I had a dps warr for heroic Durn and he literally ran from the mob at one point. When I pointed it out, he said he was kiting to which I replied /facepalm
A similar argument could be made about holy paladins. I have an alt holy priest and on my main, I always laugh when the paladin cries when a mob is hitting him. I'm just thinking, "wow, do plate and shield mean nothing?" Obviously not.

or even better rogues that unlock the chest and dont even roll on it just open it and take the contents that arent green and beyond... its like hey dont we roll on that?
Yes, how dare we take that
Scroll of Spirit V
after spending hours upon hours pickpocket leveling a skill to 350.
so what? roll to make it fair, i lvled my engineering to 375 and use the seaforium charges to blast chest's but yet i still let the group roll and highest roll opens it..or he should atleast ask if the rest of the group wants to roll, and its not always pointless scrolls in chest's.. it can be ore, herbs so idc if they took years lvling there lock picking its still fair to roll
So do you roll on addy rocks in a group, and make a miner give it all to a winner?
As far as I'm concerned, if my lockpicking skill is needed I get first dibs on basic items in the chest. Of course everyone gets fair rolls on BoE items, but the trash items... sorry but those are mine as I took the time to level the skill. If they don't agree, I just don't open it. No skin off my back.
It's the same thing with mining rocks. I'm NOT a miner, and I don't expect someone who took the time to get 375 mining to roll on rocks and hand it over to me. They spent the time levling their skills, I consider it their reward for leveling, I'm not going to bust their nuts over 4G in ore.
