Right Sakkura, but how many dps'ers do you know are mindful on trash? The ones that I've run with, or on my server generally just go nuts.
That happens too often, guess what, I stop healing them. There is no excuse for that type of behavior putting the entire party at risk, especially the healer.
When I run a heroic with a bunch of good dps, I tell them they can unleash from the start. I haven't had issues with high dps classes on trash. They often tell me, whoa this is much better than other runs where they are afraid to dps from the start or afraid to pull aggro. If you are tanking trash correctly, dps should be able to unleash from the start of the fight. Anything less is slowing the group down.
If you are with a very well equipped tank, sure. That's not always the case. DPS should be willing to adjust, because there is a theoretical max TPS that a tank can put out. And last time I checked, it's easier to go from 100% to 75% than it is to go from 100% to 125%.
You now causes most wipes in my experience? The healer running out of mana from chain healing some over aggressive DPS.

Rarely do we see a discussion about agro in TBC, trash or boss. Hunters will misdirect/fd/cower, warlock will shatter, etc. You don’t see them much anymore these days.
Well that's my point. In TBC we had to CC mobs and rarely could we AoE everything down. DPS'ers watched their threat, and Tanks had limited tools (omg using sunder armor). Now in Wrath (before Ulduar) it's basically run in an AoE everything. It's not only possible to tank the all the mobs, but it's basically a requirement on all tanks to be able to do that. Anything less and they won't group with you anymore or call you a bad tank.
We've sorta derailed this conversation. To the OP, the only minimal requirement to tank a Heroic dungeon is to get 535 Defense Skill or 665 Defense Rating. I found the more health you have, the more a group is willing to invite you. It depends on how disparate they are in looking for a tank, and if they are willing to wait for another tank to come along with more health. But I think the majority of people judge a tank based solely on his/her health.
It's silly the way that works, but that has been the trend. Raids determine who's MT and OT off that stat alone (baring favoring guild tanks they know etc). Once you hit these magical Health numbers, you will rarely find a problem getting into a group. It's generally 23k~25k for most heroics and 28k~29k for raids. Once you hit 30k unbuffed, you should be able to get an invite anywhere.

Big time derail, but here is my last comment.
To paraphrase this type of DPS mentality ... I only know how to do 1 thing. Max DPS. If I can't do Max DPS, you're a bad tank. If I die while doing max DPS, you're a bad healer. It has nothing to do with my limited ability to adapt or be flexible. I am brainless. All I care about is pouring through content as fast as possible so I can get my phat juicy tokens
What ever happened to dungeon crawls. Is everything dungeon rush right now?

Holding threat is what a good tank does, despite HP, which plays a little more into the realm of who is healing. Having more HP is obviously more desireable, since you're a meat shield for the other 4/8/22 people. But it goes without saying that a tank that can't hold aggro IS TRUELY BAD. A tank that whines about DPS'ers initiating AoE to quickly or them pulling aggro is not doing their job. Certainly it's the DPS'ers job to watch their threat, but it's the tank's job to position mobs, and make sure they are doing the most TPS possible.
Too bad most groups don't watch their threat and blame you for it.
