i've got to say i didn't find very much interesting in the Q&A (on par with the others in that regard really) and i don't see anything in the reply you quoted to make me think we'll see green fire before the next expansion.
Q&As are fine but... meh, nothing to see here.

As a long time warlock I really do hope that the soul shard changes are implemented. I am often used as a summoner for the party as well as a "stoner" (soulstones and lifestones) which eat up my shards.
What I would really like to see is a single, non-useup item that is used for summoning your demons with and some other single, non-useup item used for your other raid abilities. Just costs too many soul shards, especially if some numbnut in your party isn't paying attention to help you cast the portals and you have to recast it. I'd also like to see any level creature other than critters yield a shard, not just ones that gain experience, which is silly. Everything has a soul...lol. I mean, if you have to quickly regain shards, that level 10 dwarf guard should be a prime target!
I'd also like to see some sort of personal "recall" spell used for travel like shamans get. Warlocks really should have figured something out like that a long time ago.
I am also strongly for more survivabilty in PVP. Long overdue.
Pet overhaul is nice, but not something high on my personal request list. Oh yeah, flying demon pet! :)

all cosmetic stuff. all vapour-ware.
the basic idea is that shards provide a combat boost when needed without becoming a resource that needs to be farmed.
this is interesting though. a tease but one of the few interesting things in there.

Anyway, I think it's interesting what they're possibly planning for the future. I'd love a Warlock-only flying mount.

We definitely understand some (many? all?) warlocks would love to have green fire and we’ll try and find a cool way to deliver on this. At this point, we’d probably rather do it
with a flashy new spell
rather than just change up an existing one, but we’ll have to see.
hint hint?

I'm a bit disappointed at the Q&A too, some really unnecessary questions that could've been replaced by better ones:
Q. As a follow-up to the last question, would we consider giving warlocks a better "aggro dump" ability? Currently, their one "aggro dump," Soulshatter, has a long cooldown and costs a reagent.
Read patch notes next time. They're lowering the cooldown on Soulshatter to 3 min (from 5 min).
Q. Many warlocks often find it difficult to resummon or switch pets, especially when compared to other pet classes. Fel Domination with Master Summoner is nice for those who have the talents, but still somewhat problematic due to the long cooldown of Fel Domination.
Again, read patch notes next time. They're lowering the cooldown to 3 min (from 15 min).
And way to go NOT answering this question:
Q. In PvP, warlocks feel at a disadvantage against melee classes (and hunters), particularly rogues.
Gör om, gör rätt.
MMO Q&A

yeah, felt a little too much like blizz-PR had got involved and told them to add a couple of questions to pimp the new features that are coming in 3.2.
overall, these Q&As aren't a bad thing but i think that they're basically not for most of us here. people who keep an eye on MMO-C or any blue tracker will likely know blizzard's direction for the class and the talk of green fire and flying demon mounts was just a puffed up way to say the more common response of "we have no plans right now..."
these Q&As are just a little publicity thing to get some news onto blogs and build a bit of hype for 3.2

The
possible
flying mount is also of interest to me. I've always wanted a flying demon.
Q. Would we consider adding a warlock-specific flying mount? Warlocks have promised to never complain again should such a feature be added. Okay, not really...
A. I think it fits the warlock kit pretty well to have some kind of crazy flying demon. We don’t have any art for such a creature yet, but we’ll keep it in mind. You’d have to go back to Dire Maul to get it. Okay, not really?
You do realize that if they give Warlock's a flying demon mount, Pallies are going to want some form of a Pegaseus mount (spelling) and Hunters will demand to tame their own mounts?
These ideas are already floating around, but if you guys get demons, the QQ will never stop.

Yeah well it also fits hunters to tame their own mounts, and it also fits Pallys to summon some form of noble flying steed, if you Warlocks get to summon some form of 'unholy' steed.
Basically, if they give warlock's a demon flying mount,
it will be the end of the world.....of warcraft.
