Vent in pug raids

Those that go 'lol it's only naxx n00b, we dont need vent' typically have no clue how any of the boss encounters in naxx actually work.
Meh, i tend to say that sometimes. And i certainly know Naxx. Well, i dont use "noob" in the sentance.
Anyway... any normal-mode raid in WoW currently is clearable without the use of Vent, IF every person in the raid is competent and knows what his work is. I dont need to tell the healers that i am taunting the boss off the second tank, they know im gonna do it. I dont need to tell the shamen to drop a Tremor totem, they know they have to drop it. Noone has to tell me what to do.
Forcing people to join your VT might make the raid better because you can communicate with people who require it (= fail people), but it might as well annoy the hell out of the very competent people... making your raid worse, because they leave.
I most certainly would either leave if the raid leader was too much of an ass, or just never join any vent and stay in the raid, until i get kicked (i never get kicked).
Noone gets me off my guilds VT. There is so much fun going on always. (our guild members are on VT as much as they are on WoW. we only use guild chat to link things)

My main is a furywarrior, on that one vent is next to useles, I know the tactis of the bosses very wel these days. Vent won't help me one bit.
Music>vent anyway.
Not like a warrior has a lot of variation on tactics anyway.
On my disc priest I simply ask for a tank to heal.

It must be my realm or something then. About two thirds of the responses here seem to indicate that the rest of you never have issues with MTs disconnecting, or healers getting crushed by whelps, etc, things that need to be quickly shared with the raid.
When I go into a pug, I expect to have 24 guys in their mid 30s wearing football helmets rocking back and forth trying not to drool on their keyboards...I somehow feel less dissapointed that way. Regardless. I have yet to see a raid leader have the forsight to type
"Deathtank = MT, until she hits about 41% then he is going to lag spike, and get crit in the back by a lair guard, that the 3 surviving melee dps didnt get down fast enough, and the ranged didnt pick up because they were too busy headbanging to miley cirus, to notice the little orange words begging them to please stop dpsing the dragon while the lair guard is still at 95% and she is going to land...then 1 of the 3 priests will be tanking until Death gets a bres from the druid, that I will have to /wr then run to deaths body, and jump up and down until he sees him.
In the meantime, i want NewWarriorAlt to OT the whelps from the east cave, and IMnew2PaliTanking to cover the west cave.
I want the priest, IspamNOVAoom, to heal Death, until he gets blown up via nova, during the second breath when the raid inevitably runs to the same corner that the lair guard is being tanked, right as the whelps come out. When he goes down, i will proceed to roll my face on the keyboard typing /wr WHO the fack is alive that can heal?
Also, under no circumstances, are any of the shamans to revive themselves during the third phase of the fight, as tremor totems, like vent, is for n00bs."
...I actually like what I just wrote so much, I may actually macro it, and spam it for my next Ony...
I should of had the forsight to name this thread, "Has anyone ever been in a pug where everyone actually knows what they are doing, and pays enough attention to catch any potential raid wipes, and save the day?"

No amount of attempted co-ordination will stop stupid people from being stupid. On relatively simple fights, vent just isn't really going to do a lot for a raid group. I'm not saying it's a bad idea to use it, mind you.
We've all been in PUGs that are destined for failure due to stupid people.
If someone is incapable of comprehending instructions written on their screen, then they most likely don't care enough to listen to a person shouting at them on the headset.
