Well for pvp I'd say it's defenitely worth it. Being able to keep your diseases on for as long as possible without having to refresh them is truly an asset to pvp.
Impurity is a great talent, well worth the 5 points.
Ghoul frenzy is still so-so, since it costs a U rune you're basically paying a SS to heal your ghoul (at a very small rate) whilst giving it a minor dps boost. If timed with BT it might be useful, but it's still a lackluster.
Care to offer a build on what you had in mind? Eases up the thinking process :)

I'm not a pro with Unholy & pvp, but I may be able to help with some of the talents...
Zulun, you wanna drop frost and work with more of a 20/0/51 or something along that line with specs.
Pants, you'll want 5/5 Impurity. I'd say drop a point from OaPH and max Impurity. I am unsure if you want to drop Toughness for Necrosis....
Death Knights have a few good moves to keep targets within reach. Well, I lie, maybe 3. Desecration (good snare), Death Grip, and Chains of Frost(sp?). Chains of Frost is very very very useful, don't forget it exists. For PvP I'd drop Pestilance, and get the glyph to make your Scourge Strikes 25% to apply diseases. It's 25% versus 100%, but you're going to be spamming SS anyways right? One of them SSs has GOT to apply some diseases!
Like I said, I'm not a pro with Unholy & pvp, so even I will be learning something in this topic.

Necrosis, reaping and wandering plague are fairly inefficiant for pvp, whilst Unholy command, morbodity and Improved Unholy Presence (15% movement increase) would be more suitable. Also, On a pale horse is also
Great
for pvp.
Magic suppression and Antimagic zone screams anti-caster/support :)
Icy talons are also not that great for pvp, Icy reach and Endless winter are far more pvp directed (since you wont be auto-hitting your target as much as in pve).
Dont mix pve/pvp builds :P It's better to be better in one area whilst worse in another than bad in both.
There's something called Dual specs ;D
Here's some tunes to your build:

Alright, how about this spec?

Thanks for all the input guys. It's really teaching me new things.
I'd say you're gonna have to sacrifice some dps talents from blood and place them into frost/UH to squeeze every last pvp talent dry :)
Check out the build I linked, narcississtic I know, but I think it turned out fairly well.

About the glyphs, yeah IBF, Ghoul and Bone Shield looks alright, I'd go for Dark Death instead of IBF though, since this is a fairly high survivability build already.
The reason I skipped reaping is that in pvp it's hard/some times impossible to maintain a rotation, so it looses it attractiveness a bit there. On the other hand, yeah you do loose out on utility which would enable moves such as AMZ, CoI etc. So for a build that would emphesise control to the fullest you might want to move some points to reaping.
But it's more of a preference thing :)
I haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet, so it's very possible that is requires some tunes, WTB testers! :)

You could always cruise around Arenajunkies to see some top builds, from what I can gather it's Unholy/frost (similar to the one I linked) that's on the top of the food chain at the moment.
But you should grab a build with a direction that you fel comfortable with :)

What about a good arena build?
You would be looking for something like
this
.
Key Talents
On a Pale Horse
Master of Ghouls
Desecration
Magic Suppression
Anti Magic Zone
Improved Unholy Presence
Summon Gargoyle
Endless Winter(Frost)
Right now, in my battlegroup as least, I'm seeing alot of caster heavy teams in all brackets. Being able to throw down an AMZ when mages pop their Mirror Images is an invaluable asset for yourself and team members. Improved Unholy Presence is almost always taken as movement speed = higher ToT(Time on Target). Desecration/MoG/OaPH are obvious picks. I picked up Reaping because it gives me a way to easily keep up diseases on multiple targets while allowing for a clutch AMZ/Strangulate.
Glyphs
Major
Scourge Strike
the Ghoul
Dark Death
Scourge Strike is almost agiven. Having a 25% chance when you use your FU runepair to keep diseases up is invaluable. Dark Death gives a boost to our main RP dump and the Ghoul improves our only stun.
Minor
Pestilence
Raise Dead
Death's Embrace
We dont have much choices in our minor glyphs so I'll focus on the most contentious one. I run a double dps comp so I need to be healing my ghoul with my RP. As such, getting some RP back is much better than getting another minute on HoW which can be re casted.
Hope that this helped.
<edited to clarify the question I was answering>
