In general, the rate at which Leather vs Cloth caster gear drops is slightly biased towards caster Leather. Our stuff drops less, but the lower population of Druids pretty much guarantees that they will get gear. This changes if you always run with 3+ druids.
Resto Druids should not be allowed to roll on cloth. Trees are stat insensitive beyond the rule of "Only take stuff with Spirit and no Hit", which describes every single Ulduar leather drop.
Balance druids you could make a case for cloth gear, since the difference between a well itemized and poorly itemized item is very significant, and all the leather is poorly itemized for Balance. The most hotly desired caster items, those having +Haste, +Crit, and no Spirit, like
Robes of the Umbral Brute
you might want to let Balance druids roll on since that represents a class of items beyond Blizzard allows leather to do right now.
In general, I'd say give Clothies priority on Cloth, but lean towards Moonkin when you decide who gets Tier loot.

And the plural form of radius is radii.....ty for the grammar lesson. (OT BTW)
Course he
didn't
use radius's plural in his post, and you
did
use an apostrophe to pluralize which is like a grammatical plague nowadays.
Are you friggn' serious?.....really?

Thank you all for your assistance. I think I will allow my boomkins to roll on cloth, but the other two specs will be stuck rolling on leather. For me this seems pretty fair without completely alienating my clothies. If by chance anyone can think of a more fair system for druids please post. Again thank you for all your help and my grammar lesson ; )
Well, if that's all that you've gotten from this thread, then you'll just be hindering your own raids. pelf had a
very
effective method as to how your leather wearers could roll on cloth. If they want to roll on it, then they should put an effort into looking into their BiS pieces and seeing which ones are actually worth taking from a class that can only wear cloth.
Yes Pelf did have a valid point. If everyone of my raids was a full guild run, and I never had to pug a clothie or druid that would be perfect. But unfortunately this is not the case. If it was, then at that point I would institute a DKP and this would be a mute point. I came hear to get a feel from people who roll druids to get information. So far I have a mixed bag of info. and a half ass grammar lesson. (FAIL) Please kill this topic as I have done even more research and found that the only "Fair" way (imo) to do this is to allow Boomkins to roll on cloth.....and only cloth that would be of benefit to them. Time to down some more Ulduar boss'!

Q....thanx man. This is exactly what I have come up with as well. This is how I'm going to roll for loot in my Ulduar runs.

...this would be a mute point...
Here's another lesson: it's
MOOT
, not mute.

This is the first time that you've broughten up the point that you cannot get a full guild run, so that mistake is your own. As for the latter part of your statement, why would a Moonkin roll on cloth that
doesn't
benefit them?
I see that correcting your grammar has upset you though, and for that, I apologize. It wasn't intended, but my intent has changed. I meant to help you use the English language properly, not hurt your ego. To finish it off, the only fail here is your ineffectiveness to lay out all of the information, understand what others have to say and last but not least, your grammar.
All your posts have been invective. You're being very rude, man.

Interesting word. The etymology brought me to a verb from the same root, inveigh, sort of meaning an invective admonishment, in a sense. Thanks for that.
This is the first time that you've broughten up the point that you cannot get a full guild run, so that mistake is your own.
Now, Gorefiend, you know that if you correct someone's spelling or grammar that, thenceforth, you must have impeccable execution of the same. To that spirit, "broughten" isn't an English word. The second person, singular, present perfect conjugation of "to bring" is "you have brought".

It's a touchy subject.
If you ask a boomkin/tree, the answer is yes (I play boomkin, and I'd love to get cloth, leather does nothing for me in raid ... what boss will hit me for 56k instead of 55.5k? The itemization is practically the same, but cloth drops more often.)
If you ask priest/lock/mage, the answer is no, since boomkins/trees have leather that they can't use.
The agrument that cloth isn't designed by blizzard to be used for boomkins/trees is a silly one. Druids can wear cloth and leather. If blizzard didn't let us wear cloth, than the argument would be valid, but they do so it's not.
I think you have to set a policy, maybe allow for special circumstances.
For example, lets say your policy is mages/priests/locks get dibbs on cloth. So now you got this boomkin who's raiding week after week, gearing up your mages/priests/locks, waiting his turn.
Now this week a normal lock can't make it, so you get someone who normally doesn't raid. Obviously that someone is a lock who just hit 80 3 days a go, and his sole purpose is to put SS on a healer.
Does he need ulduar upgrade to put SS on a healer? if not, I suggest he doesn't get the cloth item druid has been waiting for.
But if you're not even getting to bosses that drop caster leather, I think you have to allow for boomkins to roll on cloth. Or give them priority on caster weapons, and see clothies cry. Say that since boomkins can't get armor upgrades until you get all yours, you can't get weapon upgrades, until they get theirs.

OMGosh! You guys here are a bunch of friggn' nut jobs! You really need to get a life.....let go of the spelling and grammar checks and just answer a friggn' question. I cannot believe you have nothing better to do then to berate someone because of their lack of grammar skills. This is not an ego thing this is me trying to run a guild as fair as possible and not exclude a particular class from getting gear upgrades......ego has nothing to do with my lack of grammar or anyone else's. Please when someone asks for help or a viewpoint try to stay on topic. If you are that bored please try a yahoo forum.....you'll fit right in. I love druids in my raids, but this forum really reeks of jerk offs! Those that were helpful please disregard my previous rant. Really doubt I'll be back here for help in the future.....easier to just shaft the druids then to get needed information from some of you.
