Those with the patience and maturity to wait for the tank to establish agg don't even need to turn off their meter, tbh!
Oh, and fellow healers? Don't even touch the guy who AoEs the whelps before the Tank can touch them, or if he has, before he's estabished agg. It will just end in
your
death. If he lives long enough for the tank to pick the whelps up firmly, great, heal him then. Otherwise, if he whines about getting "no heals", point out that by attempting to tank the whelps he wasn't exactly doing his job, either.
It's harsh, but it helps. Better the raid lose an impatient dps than lose a healer!

Recount has little to do with bad players being bad.
Once again, much like Gearscore, don't blame the addon for user ignorance.

Turning off recount won't make bad players good.
Anyone that's actually good would be playing correctly anyway, since you fall off Recount pretty damn fast when dead.

If your a tank posting it. it better be after the boss dies. If your a dps linking them unless asked you will get kicked. Made this quite known in a ulduar 10 run when I replaced 5 of the people 2 of them my guildmates when they did it.

Recount is the tool of those who are too lazy or too stupid to actually look at the skill of the player. It's a useful tool, but it is in no way a concrete benchmark of ability.
For example: I was in a VoA run over the weekend on my Shaman. He's pretty undergeared, and was only pumping out about 2.5k DPS.
At one point my DPS dropped to 2k, and someone started screaming bloody murder because my DPS "sukked." The raid leader, who had the necessary intelligence (i.e., an IQ greater than a gnat) to look beyond Recount, told the guy to shut up and play.
He also knew that my DPS dropped because I had done some emergency healing when one of the tank healers hit a lag spike.
Granted, VoA is "srs bzns" - but the location doesn't really matter.

Seems like common sense to me. Let tank get aggro then do your job as dps. I dont understand how people have a hard time understanding this. In the end who gives a crap if you did 3k dps when you couldn't down the boss.
Because then when they cause a wipe, they can pretend that they're not the reason for the constant failures because they're "pulling their weight". See? The meters prove it! They give a crap because it lets them stroke their e-peen and attempt to shift blame.
These players also tend to be the guy who pulls a lot of DPS, but can't get along with anybody else in the raid and spends the whole time insulting everyone.
You're right, sir, you didn't get any heals. Thought I'd show you what that actually looks like since earlier you were crying about getting "zero heals" when you wouldn't
stay all the way on Heigan's platform
during the slow dance, and I was busting my ass to heal you, dumbass.
