I'd go with the Gossamer and Valor Medal personally since you're already def capped without the Repelling Charge.
Valor Medal of the First War
84 Dodge Rating (@ 80) = 2.13% Dodge

Repelling Charge

The passive effect from the repelling charge is better than from the valor medal. You get better avoidance types, avoid diminishing returns and get block as well. The valor medal does have a better avoidance clicky, however. But that depends on the encounter you're up against. Like, the health clicky would be better for spike damage encounters like Malygos or Sartharion 2D/3D.
As for overall setup, combine them according to the encounter. Repelling charge and valor medal when you want avoidance, replace one of them with essence of gossamer when you want effective health.

I've actually started to reassess my gearing and trinket selection. Unless I'm doing something really hard (and the only thing I would call really hard right now is Sarth+2 or 3) or I'm grouped with people other than my normal healers, I'm choosing to go with a bit less avoidance and more block value, expertise, and hit. All the gear has more or less the same armor and stamina on it, so I'm picking things that have Def / Dodge / Expertise or Def / Parry / Hit (or similar combination) as opposed to all of the Def / Dodge / Parry or Def / Dodge / Block gear I have.
Unless you are max geared, I'd normally run with one Health and one Avoidance trinket though. I feel the "use" on trinkets are kind of wasted most of the time, so I'd probably prefer Essence and Repelling as my two choices.
