Think of it this way...you're going to have to heal the damage caused by the ghoul anyway, right? Well if you chain it, you just healed all the ghoul damage before the fight even started.

For a new priest at HTOC, the party composition will make a big difference, and I don't mean gear-wise. I would recommend at least a warrior tank (disclaimer: I have a warrior tank) and a hunter for the reasons below. A shadow priest helping out is also aces.
Horde/Alliance bosses.
For example, an all-melee team will have severe problems against a warrior, rogue, and shaman because whirlwind and poison will likely deck the party.
Most tanks will fit the bill as long as they know to pull the ranged and draw aggro. I like warrior tanks since they cleave, clap, charge back in (after getting tossed), shield bash/heroic throw a shaman's heals, and disarm the warrior. For heals, you'll need to make it clear that all you are doing is healing the tank if your spell power is low since you can't really take the time to heal anything else barring a quick renew. Make it clear they need to run back. If it is melee dying to rogues or whirlwind, don't be surprised if they die multiple times since they shouldn't assume that running into the fight again, they'll get healed. Finally, ask them to blow their CDs early rather than holding onto them since it's fighting all 3 that's the hardest.
Eadric - he's a pushover. Nothing to say here.
Confessor - she has no real aggro table. If the hunter lays snake traps, she'll be smiting snakes every so often, saving you grief. A warrior tank can berserker rage out of fear, letting you fear ward yourself, followed by trinket or racial ability. Binding heal is your friend. A shadow priest doing dps will make your life easier since they can dispel the renew immediately.
Black Knight - it's a fairly straightforward fight. You need to remove those diseases. In phase 3, the tank doesn't need as many heals. His 60% is equivalent to you at 100%. Start spamming prayer or binding heal non-stop until the BK dies, you run out of mana, or you die.

Hate to say it guys, shammies got us beat in this whole instance. Life is 100x easier for them. Cleansing totems, Tremor Totems, Heroism/BL... Yeah. This place was made for a shammy to heal.
