Transmog gather in leveling
Return to board index
With the XP boost, I started leveling new characters, and because I'm leveling classes with an armor type which I never played before, like leather or cloth, I want to collect as much different gear while leveling as much as I can for later use in transmogs.
Is there some preferred route, or efficient tactics on acquiring different gear, and is there any difference between gears got from different zones in the same level range, like Easter Plaguelands vs Thousand Needles, or Borean Tundra vs Howling Fjord?
I really want to gather as much as I can through leveling, without wasting much time because I don't really play much.
Right now I'm just doing zones throughtout with my first Rogue, but if there's any tips, I would like to use them on this, and on future characters.
Thank you in advance.
Edit: I forgot to mention, that I mainly thought about gears gained from quest rewards.
There is no sure fire way to farm the green transmog drops other than scouring the AH. Some of them are very sought after and are very rare drops from specific mobs. (Glorious plate for example) Others just drop within a certain zone or level range and you spend weeks, months or even years farming that elusive piece.
If it drops it drops(although check Wowhead first, you might be learning something worth literally hundreds of thousands of gold)
It's worth looking on the AH for certain pieces if you absolutely must have a certain look.
As a Rogue there is a "secret" set once highly prized that can be obtained in a few Deadmines runs. (or soloed later) it's a Blackened Defias Set.
In Ironclad Cove in the Deadmines you will see a ghostly parrot to the left along the water. If you approach the bird (must be outlaw spec) and take out the pet Green wing macaw you will be prompted to use your grappling hook. This will take you to a npc who gives the quest "Sea'in Red" This quest has you collect 100 masks, these mask have a 100% drop from any hostile mob in Deadmines. Its recommended to not kill any adds on the way to the npc so that once you have the quest there are enough to kill so it can be done in one run. Once the quest is completed you are rewarded the set. This can be done on normal diffculty. Once unlocked any leather wearing class can transmog it.
Thank you very much for the answer, I will certainly try this "secret" set, perhaps even today.
But reading my post again, I see that I forgot to mention that I thought about the gear gained from quest rewards. I will edit my post so it will be more understandable what I ask, my bad. Anyway, I still thank you for your answer it was certainly helpful, and I won't sell random drops anymore to vendors withouth checking AH, before I always did.
If you use addons, I recommend "All The Things". While leveling in a zone, it will tell you which transmogs you have yet to unlock. You can also customize it to include all uncollected items for your account, or just the items you can unlock with the current character. It also tracks battle pets, quests, flight paths, and a lot more.
I didn't know that All the Things can do that, but knowing this I'll download it, hopefully it will help. Thank you for the help!
