Sorry, I haven't modelled any multi-hit CL damage yet, but given that EW is around 335 DEP, while Hex is ~140, you'd have to get a large damage boost via those extra CL hits to make a difference.

Thank you for all your post. I get how good this totem is.
In conclusion yes it is better then hex but only when you have built up enough spellpower. I would not reccomend this to anyone who is not in uld10/25 gear.
Thanks for all your post.

technically, 200 haste on all your spells is weighted more than 165 SP on 1 spell

2 spells.

While Hex affects two spells, the practicality of using Chain Lightning in a regular rotation is rather minimal. Even in AE situations it can prove to be a little... awkward to use effectively. However, as I've stated previously, unless the addition of Chain Lightning with multiple targets that improve the usefulness of Hex by 80-90%, it is very unlikely that it will supersede EW in AE situations.
Regarding SP/gear levels before using EW, this is also incorrect. While it is true that increased gear value will affect stat valuations, given the quantity of haste from the buff, and the high uptime, it is unlikely that Hex will ever be better than EW at any WotLK gear level.
