PvP is a bad benchmark. Everyone is scrambling around, going to different places, some players may get a chance to fight more than others.
Personally, I have been topping the charts for the past 3 days, but again, it's a pretty bad benchmark.

I have been consistently, with a rare exception, topping BG (except for AV, the mother of all range / AOE) charts for a long time, especially now that I have the S3 sword.
I do agree with the above poster that it's a bad benchmark, seeing as sometimes you end up being the last person at a base and end up having to guard it most of the game, thus producing less damage. Numbers can also be influenced by life span, a ranged unit can pew pew from a distance, while the opposing team ravages through all the melee units first, since they are closer. In addition, life span can also be influenced by healers' heal target choices - if they healed someone else instead of you, you're SOL.
