I'm looking for some feedback on the complexity of pvp for different classes. I've been pvping since negative resistances, and know my class (warlock) fairly intimately, but while I know all the ins and outs of other classes, I'm not as familiar as I'd like.
This is not a QQ, complaint, whatever, I'm just curious how many different abilities each class uses in a "typical" arena match. The reason I'm asking is I'm out of hotkey room. I simply cannot get everything I need hotkeyed in such a manner that I can use it and would like to know how many abilities/skills other classes need each fight.
I would appreciate a list of all abilities that you would expect to use EVERY arena battle, and a secondary list of abilities that you expect to use on a frequent basis as required.
As a deep demo Warlock my essentials:
Corruption
Immolate
CoAg
Shadowbolt
Shadowburn
Fear
Deathcoil
Portal Summon
Portal Teleport
Howl of Terror
Summon healthstone
Use healthstone
Metamorphosis
Felguard cleave (toggle off and on to avoid CC breaking)
Felguard intercept (can be left on auto, but you then lose control)
Immolation Aura
Charge
Fel Cleave
On a situational but very regular basis I also use:
Fel domination
Summon felguard
Health Funnel
Summon voidwalker
Sacrifice Voidwalker
Curse of Weakness
Curse of Tongues
Detect invisibility (does not find mages, but finds succubi)
Incinerate (if I %^&* up and get locked out of shadow)
Bandage
Soulfire
Curse of Elements
Summon felpuppy
Devour magic
I don't need hotkeyed, but I also have to have access to a bunch of other things such as trinket, soulwell, net, herbalism heal, etc.
Total of 18 essentials, 14 situational but necessary, and then another 6-8 abilities that are either profession based, or I typically never cast in combat so can be left off the list.
I would very much like to see what other classes feel they require.

^^ FB rank one is not silly. Its mana cost is the same despite dealing virtually no damage, but it can be cast in half the time for same slowing effect. Good mages won't use it all the time, but they WILL use it.

Aside from using alt and shift combinations, I also find myself using the function keys.
F1 is typically the count move, like counterspell
F2 is the CC like polymorph
F3 is the pvp trinket
F4 is a utility button that serves alot of purposes depending on my character (slow for my mage)
F5 through F8 are my own buffs that I won't need to use in a moments notice, like Molten armor, Ice armor, mage armor, and AI
F9 and F10 are more less common used buffs like the party AI and focus magic.
I also find my jumping problem to be a huge advantage, since you continue moving without having to actually input any direction while in midair, so while I'm jumping I can stop worrying about moving while I reach my hand to a less convenient location. But then again, maybe this only works for me. I'm sure we all have our own play habits.

Yeah definelly when it's about "space" shamans just own everyone, because they need more buttons than any other class +_+
