I ran Nexus a few times before i considered the guardian. What I did was i farmed the mats for the guardian, making a bar of titansteel a day, and if i got the war mace before i had all the mats for the guardian, good. If not, then I at least had an upgrade.
Needless to say the mace did drop.

Grats on your first Post Reock! Personally, if I were going for one of those two maces as a Disco priest, I would choose the War Mace over the Titansteel. Here's why:
Intellect pulls several duties for a Disco priest. Mana pool (More than Holy due to Mental Strength), mana regen, crit, Rapture Rapture Rapture!
So While you may gain 49 SP and some crit out of the Titansteel, the massive intellect on the War Mace just cannot be ignored.

For Discipline, Titansteel Guardian all the way. You won't find many things to replace it with until 25mans.
The Unrequited Love Mace seems better for Holy Palys with the Int -> SP talent.
EDIT: Looks like this was changed recently cause I remember this having spirit on it. Now it looks like a worthy choice though I'd still go with Titansteel.

Everyone makes good points but to keep it short:
The Unrequited Love Mace has the Mp5 and Int and overall
better mana regen
.
Titansteel Guardian has the spellpower and the crit and overall
better Healing
(per second).
I think they are equal in their specialty and the choice between those of one based on your gear.
If you really can't choose try to get them both! And just change depending on the situation.

I've never regretted getting the Titansteel Guardian for my disc priest. If you have the cash or mats, why not get it?

I've always had one rule of thumb for my Disc healing and it's still standing up today.
Spellpower + Crit > Regen
I've never had any mana problems ever save some very specific situations or a really bad group. Neither right now is worth changing my entire itemization over.

I'm not gonna argue anything. I'm just saying what I've done so far and I haven't had any major problems yet.
Even after the spirit nerf, all I have to do is be ready to use my mana cooldowns as soon as I can or as soon as they will return maximum mana.
Obviously if your group sucks hard, carrying them through isn't ideal and you might OOM anyways.
To this day there is only one 5man that will run me OOM: a timed CoS run, and I found a way to
never go OOM in CoS
again.
Reason I undervalue regen is cause it does nothing for shields. Our heals are subpar with those of other healers but we prevent tons of damage to make up for it. Anything that gives me a bigger PW:S or lets me put up DA more often will help my healing more than being able to cast the same small heal over and over again with no effect.
Again I stress, I don't have mana issues.
EDIT: my armory link is in my sig

I agree with Prime on this one. Throughput has always been a bigger problem for me than regen. I kept an
IED
on me for a while (and it's amazing), but otherwise, only gemmed for spellpower/crit/haste. I can't remember a time when regen was a bigger issue than throughput, starting at level 80 blues, all the way to Ulduar. I stocked up heavily on mana pots to prepare for Ulduar, and use far fewer than I expected. Mana is just not an issue.
YMMV of course...would be good to see an armory link.

If your gonna do Holy, I'd def use the war mace for that spec. Crit is more of an "icing on the cake" for holy, as the apart from Inspiration, not much directly relies on crit. In the case of holy spec, Id say the mp5 and Int outweight the sp and crit that the titansteel gives.
I
wouldn't
say
that
.
Even still, I would use the War Mace as Holy because it doesn't have the same mana regen capabilities that Disco has, although getting that Holy Concentration is very useful.

As said before, it's what your lacking that makes one better than the other. You can't look at each individual piece of gear and say this is better than that (usually), if they are the same item level. Look at your overall stats, because it's those stats that heal, not one little mace.
On my server, you can spend about 800-1000g and get the Guardian as soon as you ding 80 (while it was more expensive when I dinged, that's what I did). I still use the mace, and probably won't upgrade it until I get
Torch of Holy Fire
.

There are plenty of upgrades to the War mace AND the Titansteel that are not that difficult to get.
For instance:
plasma foil
,
Hammer of the Astral Plane
,
Infection Repulser
(may be a side-grade),
The Impossible Dream
, and I'm sure there are others too that I'm not listing.
