I'm in for info as well. I used to be HEAVY into wow for first 2 years, now I just use it as a pay per month chat for most of the time.

Well, you do realize that when you stop paying for a subscription, that account can be renewed... Right?
Because unless you deleted that 64 mage's account, you can get him back, and BAM, half your trouble are over.
Just keep working on the same account. You don't need to create a new account everytime.

When the experience bar goes away, I switch to an alt.
Different strokes you know, cause different aspects of the game attract different people.
To the OP: I'm at a bit of a loss here as well, and all I can suggest is trying something you've never done. Different class? Try battlegrounds? Switch faction?

As M3ss3ng3r said, set goals. On my new druid it was first to get to 10 (I know it doesn't take much but I can't stand starter zones) for bear form. Then it was 20 for cat form. Then 30 for my mount. And I'm not sure what my next goal is. I might just level to 40 and let it sit till 3.2 and I can get my epic mount on it.

huh. i am going to give a different perspective.
the end game may be the the be all and end all for a lot of people, and I appreciate the time and effort some players bring to in the quest to be epically geared and button-twitchy-caffeine-addicted-able-to-push-six-buttons-at-once proficient at their spec and rotation.
but there are other things that are interesting. the suggestion of doing the Achievements, because some of them are damned hilarious and fun to track down. silly things like getting screenshots of your character in every piece of armor possible for their class - including the gray stuff that you have to go hunt down from the vendor in Desolace. Collecting every piece of cheese possible. Practicing fall/Charge-targeting if you're a warrior and then getting other warriors to jump off the zeppelin together and see who goes splat. hell, levelling fishing and hoping against hope you can actually get The 2 Ring.
If you're artistically inclined, there's drawing your character, other characters, or even just painting the landscapes you find. I know one person who made a paper doll of their character and then drew each piece of armor to add on, as they changed gear. It was pasted to their fridge and always fun to go over and see what had changed in their Azeroth-world.
being interested in the game doesn't always mean a race to get to 80 so you can "finally experience the content". i just want to point that out.

IMO, if you need to ask someone else on how to be interested in a game, you shouldn't play it. If you truly enjoy playing a video game or doing any hobby for that matter, you should gain interest in it automatically and enjoy it w.o asking these kinds of questions.
