Mage T9 2P Bonus (Class: Mage) -- Increases the armor you gain from Ice Armor by 20%, the mana regeneration you gain from Mage Armor by 10%, and converts an additional 25% of your spirit into critical strike rating when Molten Armor is active.
Mage T9 4P Bonus (Fireball, Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Arcane Blast) (Class: Mage) -- Increases the critical strike chance of your Fireball, Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Arcane Blast spells by 5%.

4 piece is sexy. 2 piece not so much. What about the other classes?

For the 2 pc, roughly how much crit % would 550 spirit translate into?
Post by
Neritha
550 spirit would give about 9,5% crit chance assuming you're also using the
Glyph of Molten Armor

some of the other classes have really, really bad tier bonuses. This, is actually one of the decent ones

meh and meh ... or crit and more crit ... it just doesn't seem that exciting really. Atleast it's not more random procs.

Sigh.
Still no fix for Mage Armor. Who the heck wants more mana regen on mage armor for an Arcane Mage.

For a geared mage the new tier set with 4 peices is about 10% more crit from what I heard.
Meaning in that gear, which you already have 60 to 65% crit chance, you will now have 70 to 75% crit chance.
It also seems they fixed ignite munching.
And some people could interpret the Hot Streak change to proc even if you crit, then dont crit, and then crit. OR that Hot Streak can proc off Pyroblast... Too soon to be sure.
Sounds like our DPS will skyrocket....
Anyway. That being said, my rogue hit 64 today. :)
to get 10% more crit, you'd need about 450 crit rating, which means you'd need about 1800 spirit. Obviously impossible.
All the other changes are mostly clarification to the tooltips. All the abilities now already work that way.
Sigh.

i wont complain about more mana regen, granted its not the greatest set bonus, fairly average, but mana regen is mana regen, more mana = more dps
Unless, of course, you have Arcane Meditation.
Then this fix does diddly for Arcane.

I cant understund the people saying that mage set bonuses are place holders, this is far better than most other classes, blizzard obviously failed on t9 but you keep complain with some of the best bonuses..(overall t9)

tbh, they probably are place holders, btu when the real ones come out, i will update them accordingly

Anyone who says 2P is bad is just far too stubborn to accept spirit isn't a dead stat for mages. 80% spirit -> crit rating? thats nice. (35% + 20% glyph + 25% 2P)
I don't think it's bad, per se, but it really makes me think that they have no idea what to do with Mage Armor, or care about Arcane scaling in raids.

QFT.
they want to make arcane more endgame viable by reducing the mana issues, and yet everything they have is focusing on crit which is by far more substantial for fire/ffb than arcane.
way to level the playing field blizz..
