Nobody who actually made it to the podium should have been there, since Vettel and Grosjean both retired with technical difficulties, and Hamilton was shunted out of contention. Vettel was a full pit-stop ahead of everybody else, twice! Alonso is the only one who deserved to be there, but I don't think he would've won.
Alonso won from 11th, Webber pulled up to 4th from 19th on the grid, some decent sized crashes due to poor driving and poor defending, and a lot of brilliant overtaking maneuvers.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

Hahaha. Have you got any photos of inside? I've seen some funny interior photos of "Australian" pubs with boomerangs and things on the walls.

I'll take some Pictures of the inside before I leave tomorrow. The pud's logo is a jumping kangeroo though.

So I've been having a bit of fun with
this
statistical website while I try to figure out who Queensland's best choice for fullback is.
So far I've gathered the following with regards to attacking prowess
Ben BARBA - 15 games
10 try assists @ 0.67 per game
102 tackle busts @ 6.8 per game
Greg INGLIS - 13 games
9 try assists @ 0.69 per game
79 tackle busts @ 6.1 per game
Also got
these
stats from
www.nrl.com
. These are the insights I got from it:
Greg Inglis has the safest pair of hands and makes the least errors. He is also by far the tallest, biggest and (presumably) strongest. However he has the highest missed tackle rate at 28.3%.
Ben Barba has the most overall run metres, and also the most metres per run with 11.1. He has the most offloads, most line breaks and most tries. However he has the lowest defensive workload with only 3.1 tackles per game.
Matt Bowen has the highest defensive workload with 4.1 tackles per game. He also has the lowest missed tackle rate at 24.1%. However he has the least line breaks, least offloads, least run metres, and averages only 9.7 metres per run. He also makes the most errors.
I think Qld probably will (and should) put GI at fullback as he is a proven big game player. Statistically, Barba has had a better season, but he has yet to have had his mettle tested in a big game, and an Origin decider is about as big as they come. Once he has experienced pressure-cooker September (and hopefully October) rugby league, I think he will be ripe for rep selection.
As a Blues fan, I hope they pick Bowen!

Interesting to see that Manly wins when they score first.
Exception being the Dogs game

There's all kinds of obscure little statistics that are very interesting and a lot of nerds spend a lot of time working them out. Some of my favourite ones that I've heard watching Bulldogs games are that they've only conceded something like 23 points in the final 20 minutes of games this year. And they've won every game that they've scored 14 or more points in.
As I said, from a NSW perspective, I'd love to see Bowen picked. GI is the most intimidating of the 3, even though he is overall less dangerous than Barba, but GI will be in the team regardless. We just don't know yet whether it'll be at centre or fullback.
Also, did Matt Bowen sleep with the coaches wife or something?
He seems to have had his papers stamped 5 years ago, never to be picked, and I am not really sure why, even on the wing he would be a better option than Darius Boyd at the moment.
Boyd has actually played fairly well in Origin this year. I was personally pissed that NSW picked Hayne but he has stepped up too. I guess Bowen is getting long in the tooth so they don't really wanna bring him back in just to get rid of him again. Mal obviously values stability in his lineup.

He's a winger, that's what they are there for. :P

Cam Smith has had his say:
"Look at a guy like Billy Slater, he had a few errors in him early on but now he's the best fullback in the game - Benny (Barba) has put himself in that category now," Smith said.
"He'd be able to handle the occasion if he is given opportunity."

I hope to see more of that from Newcastle (not that I watched the game, just the score updates).

I've only tipped against the Bulldogs once this year. And I was correct! (The first time they played Melbourne).
