So lets say someone in for example Norway would take opon them to make sure that the wowhead giveaway would be legal. Would it then be possible to include Norway?
Speaking in terms of corporate liability, this isn't really a good idea either. Imagine for a moment that you were involved in, say, a copyright lawsuit—that would be like calling someone up at random and asking them to draft the court documents for you. =/
Also: Moved to Site Feedback.

Blaming the citizens for the laws in their country? I think you should all know by now that NO ONE has a say in anything with regards to the law. Everything gets over-ruled just because someone in the EP wants it done. The laws are there to protect us, and in the case of the EU Parliment the laws were probably put into effect because of the mistakes other countries were making with regards to certain issues. And in the same vein most of these laws that are causing problems came into effect before most of the EU players were born.
So quit throwing around the fact that it's our fault that we can't get competitions. It's not. We're just victims through association here. And completely shooting down ideas where people effected by this are trying to fix it and offering suggestions isn't helping at all. Several points earlier in the thread like this were made, blaming the citizens in the EU for this and I read them and it only came across as either a resident in the EU that had given up, or someone who isn't effect by this that just wants us to shut up.
I would rather more detailed input from someone that runs the site to be honest and I had actually typed up a whole essay about the finer points of EU law and the difference between that and the laws of countries within the EU. Admitedly I only have experience with Employment Law so I don't know how far that goes. If I'm correct this isn't much of a butt hurt as it seems, it's just a logistical nightmare when you're not based in the EU.
Also, the EU and its citizens have far bigger things to worry about than not having competitions here but start small and work your way up, right?
Sending an email to the site email if I can find one.

Sweetie, I think you missed the major point here:
If we're going to give away a prize with a monetary value, we require the services of a lawyer to make sure the contest follows the rules of the country we're giving the prizes away in, to avoid being arrested for running an "illegal lottery".
I would definitely like the opportunity to help out there.
If you want to help, then why don't you pony up the cash for the lawyer services that Malgayne says they need to have in order to make sure the contest is legal? It's a MONEY issue, nothing more.
It's just not cost effective to have contests anywhere but USA due to the fact that Wowhead is based in the US and majority of the users are in the US as well.
