With beta Azeroth being reshaped and changed for good, so much of the old content will be gone for good along with it.
Thinking on this, with quests, areas, npcs and other events, what are the things you would miss when cataclysm comes?
For me its -
:The quest chain starting with the fallen hero of the horde, such a great quest and story behind it, and so much work put into it.
:The quest for childrens week to get cairnes hoofprint for your adopted child.
:The blackrock spire quest to get the pet spider and worg.
:Saving Crossroads from alliance often and chasing them off with my friends.
:Any quest that had you come to Thrall in orgrimmar, now if such quests survive, it'll be replaced by that walking turd Garrosh.
Edit: I also thought of an alliance one funny enough, the quest chain to get the furbolg costume, but not really a concern for me now.

grimguzzler.
Oh god I forgot this one :(
With blackrock mountain being destroyed, this means those instances will either be gone or changed for good.. no more dark iron ale or dwarf costume :(

Blackrock Mountain is
NOT BEING DESTROYED
.
They are simply adding in a
new Raid
and a
new Instance
.

Well, since alliance are getting southern barrens the amount of crossroad raids will surely rise to an extremely crazy level. Can you imagine all the air raids that will happen in the barrens after Cataclysm. Its going to be pure epicness.

Actully I can't think of anything more annoying then some night elf druid doing that pain in the ass 'shadowmeld-flightform' well at crossroads.
But still, with the changing of the zones, the want to protect crossroads probably won't have th meaning it use to. More then likely our attentions going to be drawn to other places.
Still, if alliance have camps now in southern barrens between thunderbluff and org, thats enough to gank those places.

I think I will miss the overall feeling of old Azeroth. Things will be different. But, hey, I get to say "Back in my days there was a town here...". Makes me feel a little bit of a veteran.

I'm gonna miss the quest to redeem tirion's son taelin.
I'm gonna miss the quest of the shady rest inn (both alliance and horde version)
I'm gonna miss the scite of elune chain.
I'm gonna miss the legend of stalvan
I'm gonna miss the overall quest-chain of the defias conspiracy on westfall and stockade.
I'm gonna miss thrall as my warchief, and example to follow and emulate.
I'm gonna miss blackrock depths, (this place will never be the same, the entrance to the new raid is trough nefarian's throne room, wich means his lair as an raid will be removed and the entire zone will be added to the general map.
I'm gonna miss the overall timeline of the game.
as argent sun said, at least there will be that proud feeling that when newer players join the game at say 3 years in the future, I can tell them "did you know that back a long time ago desolace was a desert? it's true, and our warchief was green, and there wasn't all this lava arround" it trully makes us feel like veterans, as we see how much this world has changed so much (and maybe we changed a bit with it too)
I'm gonna miss so many things.......
but this is for the good, overall there is roughly 2k quests on kalimdor and eastern kingdoms combined (including class quests and dungeon quests) and yet out of those 2k, few VERY FEW are cool memorable or fun.
leveling up a new toon for me is only fun after lvl 58 that's when the actual fun really starts, but on cata, makinga new toon and leveling the dreaded first 58 lvls will actually be fun, rewarding, and cool. (or so i hope)
the price to pay is the world we're so used to by now, but the rewards are quite worthy IMO.
one thing I'm definitly am NOT gonna miss is having to find mankirk's wife (hope her beaten corpse get's fried on the lava) and getting crappy green items with SPIRIT as reward for my efforts.

I'm gona miss the look of old Azeroth. The... untainted feeling that some areas had that made the world serene...
