I have to say I agree with you there.
Another point is "feats of strength" are an insult to their category.
Things like log on during WoW's X anniversary just shouldn't be an achievement.
The Feat of Strength category simply means it's an achievement that is no longer possible to get, not necessarily that it was hard to do.

Uh, are there any achievments nerfs coming?
Who cares? I dont know how can someone consider those once-a-year-event-achievments as achievments. You know, killing an extremely simple event boss at least five times a day for a useless drop? The one sending you to every possible inn in the world is quite fine, though. And I am pretty sure you arent talking about the raid achievments...

After new patches, Blizzard almost always nerfs some achievements as being too hard (generally related to a boss-fight).
The Feat of Strength category simply means it's an achievement that is no longer possible to get, not necessarily that it was hard to do.
Seems stupid to call it a Feat of Strength then. Besides, think about the following:
-
Friends in High Places
-
Grand Black War Mammoth
All the legendary item achievements etc.
They are still attainable. Some aren't particularly difficult either.
Meh, forgot about those feats. Well, my description is mostly accurate at any rate :P

What about winning WG with Tenacity? It is still technically obtainable, yet is considered as a FoS.

On my server, where horde also never has tenacity, the aliance is able to storm the fortress on especialy laggy days. Then the increased health/damage without any additional restrictions to numbers of vehicles actualy means an advantage.

All achievements that have been nerfed required insane amounts of luck to get.
And, being lucky is not an achievement.
Hitting the nail on the head, much. You win three whole internets!

what about achievement buffs? :O
wtb
Twilight Zone (10)
With all three twilight drakes alive, engage and defeat sartharion the onyx guardian in 10-player mode, this achievment will only count if your fight with sartharion is goes for longer than 2-minutes.
stop those people who have the nightfall title who dont deserve it. from not doing it the normal way its meant to be!

I'm guessing this is a reference to the Sinister Calling Achievement, seeing as that has been hacking people off for the last 2 weeks.
And yes, nerf the bloody thing, I have grown to hate the Headless Horseman with a passion. He'll drop clutches,
bucketloads
of rings and seals, but will he drop a Hallowed Helm? Will he buggery.
I curse him to eternal damnation for taunting me, teasing me, 5 times a day, every day. Horrible, horrible, horrible achievement.
QQ.

" something accomplished, esp. by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc.; a great or heroic deed: his remarkable achievements in art.. "
Dont use excuses like " RNG " because RNG has existed in this game since the beginning...
Not everyone wins the lottery, do they ?
Should the millions that entered the lottery ring up the management of the lottery and ask for a larger percentage chance because they lost ?
Having a random aspect to an achievement, by way of definition, makes it not an achievement. By your definition, all requirements for achievements that involve a random aspect should be removed and replaced with something that should be attainable only through great effort and ability.
Winning the lottery is not an achievement, because you have not accomplished something "by superior ability, special effort, or great courage". You paid your dollar, and the random number generator smiled upon you.
By the by, I would also assume this has to do with the lack of either helm or squashling pet drops from the Horseman. The RNG aspect of that was a bit annoying; I got lucky and got it on the second day, but my roommate never has gotten it to drop off the Horseman (he wound up getting it in a treat bag from an innkeeper).
I would personally rather have seen them institute some sort of currency, like they do for other holidays, and make the squashling available that way. The Hallowed was the last achievement I needed to get my drake, and had I been thwarted by the RNG gods, I probably would have been pretty ticked-off.

What about that Derren Brown thing a few weeks ago?
He used his 'abilities' to predict the lottery numbers.
