I've been intrigued by the Worgen lore since the first time I encountered them in Duskwood back in '06.
Unfortunately there's very little information about the world they came from, other than a vague refference to it's hospitality (or lack thereof) and alluding to a vicious war with a mysterious group called The Lord of the Emerald Flame.
Although the Worgen's enemy's name might be a clue to their identity, that's all the information I've been able to find about their world.
I'm wondering/hoping that someone might know of any information about this, or maybe some clues for plans to flesh out the Worgen lore from Blizzard.

Unfortunately, there going with the Cursed Worgen lore for the new race so more then likely the original worgens are being back shelved for now.

Well yeah.. but it's Argual, he was trying to create controllable Worgen, and a few of his experiments(alright most of them) ran amuck and began biting and infecting others, and well, seeing as their worgens behind the wall, they got through at some point.

Yeah, we wont be seeing it for a while.
But, as far as I know, Tyralon, Alleria, and the other survivers of the Outland Cataclysm were there once.

Where did you read that? The only refference I found that says they went to a world other than Outland is
As Draenor tore apart around them, Turalyon lead the forces of the Alliance Expedition that were with him through a portal to yet another world, one they could barely make sense of.
But that's the only thing it says on wowwiki.
And I reluctantly agree that we probably won't be seeing more Worgen lore.
I had hopes that, perhaps, some of the Gilnean scholars would try to learn more about them. Even provide a quest to try to obtain the
Book of Ur
from
Keeper Bel'dugur
in Undercity.
I can always keep hoping :)

Yes, if you look up
Jitter's Journal
(or something along those lines) it states that when the Scythe of Elune was in the mine (the Scythe being known to be related to the worgen) strange things would happen. Yells were whispers, whispers were yells, and the entire place seemed alien. To me, that seems to be something someone couldn't make sense of.

I see where you're coming from, but that's far proof that it's the same world.

Me too, I suspect there is a definately link between human cursed worgens and origianlly summoned worgens.
Because there is? Though I'd love something about the worgen home world.

True, but it has the potential none the less.

I'm going with the Emerald Dream.
Emerald Nightmare to be exact. Good idea. Especially because they got summoned with the scythe of Elune.

Worgens started from some of the first attempts by High Elves in to Druidic Teachings from there lore is missing
The Worgen we have seen so far are Cursed Worgen i fear the druid lore will not be expanded on for 4.0

I've never read anything that connects High Elves or druidism to Worgen in any way. Can you provide a source?

tho never directly implements Druidism but its from a time when i believe Elves did not possess the the knowledge of Druidism.
Now Worgen are not elves and my last post was misleading sry... i meant that elves dabbled with Druidism after Worgen came... Elves seeing the power feral.

It begins shortly after the destruction of the World Tree.
First sentence in the second paragraph, Druidism had been part of Night Elf society for a while by then. And the events of Arugal were quite recent aswell.
I really don't know where you get the idea that anyone even knew of the Worgen before Velinde and the Scythe of Elune and it's been well established that Cenarius taught druidism to the Night Elves, they didn't learn on their own.

Cataclysm page says that the Night Elves and the Worgen are ancient allies.
If you're talking about this paragraph:
Records indicate that the worgen existed for a time in Kalimdor. In fact, more recent evidence suggests that their true origin might have a connection to the night elves and a secretive druidic order from Kalimdor's distant past. Yet until new evidence comes to light, this information remains speculative.
Then I thank you for making me aware of it. I hadn't seen this before. But this alone doesn't indicate they were allies, only that there
might
be a connection. Which is quite possible.
If you're reffering to the line in the cataclysm trailer then keep in mind they were talking about the Gilnean Worgen, who have been afflicted by the Worgen Curse for no more than 10 years. Which is hardly ancient.
The line is:
As the vile Forsaken march south into Gilneas, an
ancient ally
resurfaces so bring the savage Worgen into the Alliance.
That could just as easily reffer to the Night Elves' status as an ancient race and not the length of an alliance between them and Gilneas, let alone an alliance with the true Worgen race which weren't even mentioned.
