I was thinking; Arthas never actually died. In the WC3 campaigns he get's Frostmourne, but it "only" eats his soul, he doesn't phisically die. Did the Lord of the Undead Scourge never die, or did I miss something?

no, the lich king merged with arthas, taking over his physical body, which he is now controlling.

I don't think he's controlling...
The body never actually died, so technically, he's alive, isn't he?

well, i guess, but since Fristmorn ate Arthas' soul, there is no soul inside the body, making it, you could call it, a empty husk (Or am I wrong?).

That's true, he never did physically die. So technically yes, but he is one with the Lich King, which I'm not sure how that works. For all we technically know, Arthas soul is trapped within and the Lich King has taken full control whilst merging with his body.
You can come up with many theories, but we won't know until your raid group gets to emerge victorious from the towering spire.

Arthas isn't trapped. So much so that the Lich King's voice is his and Ner'zhul's together.
Worst case, he's being mind controlled, but it's not like he's the victim...

Kind of ironic, previously a pawn of the Burning Legion, now the leader of the Scourge, an Orc and Human combined into one body.

In the new Arthas book at the very end Arthas destroys the lich kings soul and takes his power. so
Arthas is alive and evil and The lich king
If that's true, than that book sucks lore-wise.

Woah! There is a little something here we are missing - Arthas became a Death Knight soon after he found Frostmourn. He didn't die in battle, or natural death, or anything like that - it was the mortification of his soul that made him undead. So in a sense he never died, not the way we understand death, but he
is
undead now.

Also, I doubt the Lich King was ever like "Dang, your body temperature is getting too low, go sit by that fire" or "You're dangerously hungry, we better get you some food!" He probably just died from lack of things necessary for life.

Before Arthas donned the Lich King's armor, it was the spirit of the former Orc Shaman Ner'zhul who's soul was attached to the armor and then imprisoned (physically) inside the Frozen Throne. Now Arthas and Ner'zhul's spirit are one and together they are the Lich King. --from wowwikki
Sounds like a fusion/merge to me.
In the new Arthas book at the very end Arthas destroys the lich kings soul and takes his power. so
Arthas is alive and evil and The lich king
He also stabs his former self, and he disappers too................yet he is in game. (quest in icecrown) I'm sure nez'rhul is around.
The current lich king was born of the two. Fused into one, he would have no need of his 2 former selves. Seeing both as possibly weak, and annoying, it's easy to see him killing them.
