Welcome to The Lion and the Hammer!
This RP is set in the Second War and is a war RP. If you're new to RP, you may want to read
this
. Enjoy! More info after the break.
This is more focused on the impact of the war on your typical orc, or human...so No Lore character RPing please. :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a
Q&A
so I would ask for most of the plain OOC posts to be posted there, as to keep the RP as consise as possible.
For a War style RP, I thought the Second War would be perfect - It really was the biggest example of Open War between 2 factions in modern Azeroth's history, so it only seemed fair.
This will, if successful enough, take place throughout the course of the War, and will conclude with the Battle at Blackrock Spire. Currently, the Stormwind Refugees have fled north and reached Lordaeron, the Alliance is being formed and the Horde are also recruiting. This also means there is no talk of Kalimdor, or races native to it which are not present on the Eastern Kingdoms in large numbers.
I am also asking that no one chooses to control the major Lore characters if they can help it, because I want to try and focus on the impact of the war on everyday life.
The outcome is not certain, you can RP anyway you want..as long as it's split into the two opposing factions. We can play with the outcome of the War if you want. This is about creativity.
Um...Troop control is okay, but not Godmoding.
So, there are two* options for factions, each with some race diversity:
Horde
- Orcs (Forgot which Clans were involved - I know the Frostwolves were not...but here are the
clans
), Forest Trolls (Amani primarily), Ogres, Goblins, Death Knights.
Alliance
- Humans (broken up into the nations of the remains of Stormwind, Lordaeron, Gilneas, Stromgarde, Dalaran, Kul Tiras, Alterac*), Dwarves (Bronzebeard or Wildhammer clan), Gnomes, High Elves.
1* - You could be from somewhere else, such as a Dark Iron dwarf or...a Lost one, but it wouldn't really fit in the theme of war unless they have an allegiance.
2* Alterac later collaberates with the Orcish Horde, what your character - if from Alterac - Chooses from then is up to them.
So, the Rules...
1 - Typical no God-moding, unless you have the character's owner's permission to God-mode their toon.
2 - Mark OOC posts as (( ))
3 - Try to keep up coherent spelling and grammar, because it makes posts much easier to read.
4 - Have fun!

Alliance:
Tyrun Goldheart
Alex Daimun
Valinaria Halwing
James Seabrook
John "Jack" Halgrind
Ario
Horde:
Zal'gar Bonecrusher
Hex'rax Juljin
Geezle Blastfix
Drakthog Earthshatter
---------------------------------------------------------------
We have a few RPers now, but I'm keeping spaces open for now; But try and keep the factions fairly balanced for the sake of RP! Specifically the Horde, if you want to play a 'bad guy', here's the chance. Don't be shy, we won't bite. Unless you like it.

Character: Tyrun Goldheart
Location: Stromgarde
Bio:
A simple farm boy with a strong affinity to the Light, Tyrun is a young man in his early 20s who would give anything to keep his family safe. He wears simple clothes, and lead an ordinary and peaceful life until the coming of the war.
"Oh, what are you doing?" Asked Tyrun's mother, rubbing dirt off of his shirt.
He sighed. "Mother, I am going to Capital City. All of these humans are going there, and I want to know why."
He felt his sleeve being tugged, and looked down to see his little sister. "Brother, when are you coming back?" She asked, hugging her teddy bear tightly.
"Soon enough Jala, and we will be okay. I promise you." He smiled, ruffling her hair. "Pinky promise?" She asked, Tyrul nodded. The girl skipped off to play with her friends, smiling.
He looked through his room for formal clothes, and found a white shirt and some silk trousers which still fitted him. He kissed his mother on the cheek, and took the family horse, Lightmane, outside the city. He quickly caught up to some of the refugees, but did not want to ask any questions. They looked run down and weary.

((ooc - and I think I've got it heh))
Character:
Zal'gar Bonecrusher
Location:
Stormwind
Zal'gar is a massive Ogre warrior, standing at about 15 feet, and prefers to use a massive club made of the Ironwood trees of Draenor. The Ogre serves the Horde willingly, and is enjoying being on Azeroth where there are many small creatures to crush and squish.
"Zal'gar! Take it down!" The voice of his chief echoed over the sound of battle, and the massive figure turned to see the orc pointing at a building. With a roar, the ogre charged, driving his club downwards and shattering a piece of cottage, before lifting his club again and again, turning it into kindling with a brutal laugh.
"What next Clan leader?" He asked, his deep voice sounding like rocks falling down a mountain as he looked down at the orc.
((ooc - I'll add in my High elf in a later post heh.))

(( OOC - Eh, time for me to join this RP mon. ))
Character: Hex'ran Juljin
Location: Outside of Stormwind
Hex'ran is a troll assassin, having mastered the arts of combat in the darkness. He has light blue hair in the shape of a mohawk, though not spiked since he can't stand it that way. He wields two blades at his side, along with a variety of poisons and deadly traps for whatever he needs to kill. He has a more compassionate side to him when others aren't looking, usually sparing anyone that he allowed to since he doesn't like a death due to simple 'bad luck' or 'wrong place or wrong time.'
Hex'ran stared at the once proud city of Stormwind, the fortress now in ruins from the orcs obliterating it.
"Soon I shall have my lands back, and the Amani shall rule da lands again," he said, still working on fixing his acsent.

((Time for me to make a second character...How horridly confusing!))
Character: Drakthog
Location: Stormwind City
Bio:
After the spirits abandoned the Orcs and they fell into the Bloodlust, Drakthog worked on enhancing his skills in combat. He eventually became an expert with a sword, earning the coveted rank of Blademaster. In only a long leather kilt and heavy shoulderpads, this large, muscular Orc holds his large sword with ease.
"Lok'tar!" Yelled the Orcs, almost in unison.
Drakthog walked through the tattered remains of the city, bowing his head. The humans were honourable, they did not deserve this, but he had to fight. He had to prove the might of the Horde, and make his mate proud.
((I'll post both characters together once this picks up steam))

((Going to bed after this.))
Character: Tyrun Goldheart
Location: Outside Stromgarde
"It's getting late."
Thought the farm boy, seeing the Sun retreat behind the hills. Some of the refugees had gathered, and made makeshift tents with what they had left.
Not wanting to feel intrusive, Tyrun checked into the inn, as his family's farm was now several miles away.
"Tomorrow, I'll find out what's been happening."
He thought, drifting into a sleep on a rather uncomfortable bed.
------------------------------------------------------------
Character: Drakthog
Location: Stormwind
"What are the Horde doing with these...Goblins?"
Thought the blademaster, sighing as he saw another engineer pass him. He walked through the charred remains of the trade quarter, and found a house nearly fully intact.
He walked in, and the painting of the family were still hanging over the mantlepiece. There was a man, he looked strong and brave. Next to him, stood a woman, standing sternly while cradling a baby in her arms. He dreaded to think of their fate, but knew it was what he had to do for his people's future.

Character: Hex'ran Juljin
Location: Outside of Stormwind
Hex'ran stalked around the outside, taking herbs and plants he knew he could use to make the poisons he would soon use.
"This shall do nicely," he said, grabbing another plant and shoving it into his pouch.
"No Alliance have been here for weeks now, I wonder if they have given up," he thought, wondering when the trolls would strike the elven territory for their long lost city.

(Here goes)
Character: James Seabrook
Location: Lordaeron
Background: James is a warrior of the Lordaeron. He is a quite new soldier, but he knows how to handle a sword. When the war broke out, he was chosen to go and help Stormwind with the rest of his battalion.
''Its raining'' James said when he mounted up his horse. He began riding towards Stormgarde to meet up with his battalion.

((I think I'll make an Alliance character for once. I thought about using Neklosh, Rashahkk, or a goblin, but the Alliance needs more, it seems, and I have yet to RP an Alliance charter here.))
Character: John "Jack" Halgrind
Location: Outside Stromgarde
Description: Jack is a Knight of Alterac, coming from a fairly well off family and having a wife and two sons. He has pledged his loyalty to Lord Perenolde, and now rides with a company of Alterac knights sent to aid the Alliance troops at Stromgarde.
Rain poured down. Jack hoped that his armor wouldn't rust. It had cost his family a fortune. He could just make out the outline of the rest of the troops, standing outside the mighty city of Stromgarde.
"So this is it?" he muttered. "The mighty city of Stromgarde. Impressive."
------------------------------
((And just because I have to... I think I'll make a Horde toon soon. Who should I use... Kal'rema (Dag'rema/Kitanga's mother), Neklosh (Nakresh's dad), Rashahkk (the Inexorable. He really is bad.), or another character?))

Character: Tyrun Goldheart
Location: Outskirts of Stromgarde
Tyrun woke up, the Sun shining in his eyes. He got himself washed and dressed, before heading outside. He saw a large battalion of High Elves, and felt quite un-nerved.
He approached one((GC, if you want it to be.)), asking "Um...Excuse me madam, but what are your soldiers doing?" Blushing, He had never met an Elf.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Character: Drakthog
Location: Stormwind
The Orc woke up, he must have fell asleep in the human's chair. He clenched his sword, holding it closely as he did not know what to expect from the Horde's new allies. He decided to practice his sword skills at a nearby target which had been hastily set up by the Orcs.
((Skree, pick whoever you want to depending on the personality you want to work with. :D))

Character: James Seabrook
Location: Outside of Stromgarde
''There they are'' James said when he neared his battalion.
''James Seabrook reporting for duty'' he said to the captain.
''Good you could come, Seabrook'' the captain said. ''You must go get some weaponry from the armory'' he said and turned away, giving orders to other soldiers. James went over to the armory and got himself a blade, and joined up with the other soldiers.

Character:
Zal'gar Bonecrusher
Roaring, Zal'gar chased a group of humans, his club held high and bringing it down, crushing two of them in one blow. "Die!" He snarled, swinging the blade to kill another. He finished them off, and looked down at the bloodied destroyed corpses before turning to walk off before he stopped, seeing one of the Death Knights of the Horde staring at him.
"
Move.
" It said and he growled but shuffled away as the necromancer cast a spell, reviving them in unlife. Sniffing in disgust, the ogre thundered away, heading back towards his people, the Knight unsettling him.
