The "ideal" setup is one that is easy for you to use and configure, works well with your playstyle, and helps you perform to your best ability.
I personally find the thought of configuring multiple add-ons to do the same thing I can do with one to be a waste of time and effort.
Healbot shows me the whole raid group plus pets (grid) allows me to bind different spells to mouse buttons/alt-ctrl-shift+mouse buttons and cast them with one click (clique), can be easily set up to show dispellable debuffs on each raid member's bar (forteXcorcist) and only requires one download+ configuration session.
So unless and until someone shows me a compelling reason to bog down my UI with 5 add-ons that do basically the same thing as one, I'll stick with healbot.
Pallypower is a must for any raiding paladin. It's just common courtesy to the raid. Paladins need to coordinate who is giving which buff. The whole raid doesn't need to stand around for ten minutes while Pallypwnzor and Retforlife and LeetHealadin work out who is giving kings and why don't the hunters have might yet and why do we have 2 ret auras and no devotion aura... blah blah blah. Set up pally power. Click click click. Raid is buffed let's go.

as someone who used healbot for six months before changing to grid (plus other add ons), i find grid does more than healbot, to the extent that it's made my healing far more efficient.
I am a healbot user. I tried Grid&Clique briefly but kinda did not like the fact that, unlike healbot, next to the mouse i ALSO need to use a keyboard key to heal (Shift, Alt or Cntl), even for the most commonly used heals.
However, when convinced I might be willing to give another try. Can you elaborate here on the advantages on using Grid&Clique over Healbot?

I'd go with Gatherer

grid FTW!
and clique with that but it's not necesary, only if someone wants to heal with mouse buttons on player portaits to heal them instead of clicking them
i like the part where grid shades the players hp's that'll be healed bcs of a hot or incoming heal very much, so i know which ppl are good and which require a hot

The only time I've had a glitch with healbot was when Wow itself glitched, or my internet locked up. That wasn't healbot's fault, I had to reset WoW, or reboot my router.
If healbot stops working, I'll try something else, but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and all that.

pallypower. nothing else, since grid and healbot dont rly do anything then add two windows to your screen. healbot does random spells and buffs when clicking the left button and rigtheous fury on the right. grid is just a window that doesent do anything. and you cant configure either of em as some people claim.

Um, what?
My thoughts exactly.

This is true. It takes multiple addons to make it equivalent, if not better, to the utility that Healbot provides but Healbot glitches much more often than Grid.
What exactly do you mean? I don't have Healbot "glitch" on me at all.
