The thread's been At War with the Wowhead faction since it's inception.

Honestly, I consider media tie-ins hack territory, period. No, I do not read any.I was actually trying to imply as much (and that Golden is far better than the vast majority).

Let it go; he's just trying to cause trouble.
Not at all. She's a hack of a writer, her work is the equivalent to really well done fan fiction and fan fiction is garbage. I seriously thought it was Elaine Cunningham under a different pen name.
I'm sorry you're horrible at knowing whether a writer is good or not.
Seriously, ask anybody. I'm a critic. But I like Golden. Obviously she isn't on the level of Brandon Sanderson or Robert Jordan, but she's pretty good.

Don't respond to Rojo; the guy enjoys causing flames, look at any of his posts.

I know. But I like to go on the assumption that people aren't trolls until they prove to me specifically that I'm overwhelmingly wrong.

Heh, the writing isn't for everyone. You could say that about Tolkien as well... :P
You've stated how much you dislike him, but I'm reading the Quenta Silmarillion at the moment, and I'm astounded by how poignant and vast his lore is.

That's what I meant; no reason to jump down the throat of troll who is just trying to get a rise out of people; your just playing into his hands.
/shrug Everyone is free to like whatever authors they want.

I've read some good fan fiction. You shouldn't be generalizing that much =\ Fan fiction is just like original fiction: Sturgeon's Law applies.
But I'm not that impressed with Robert Jordan; his style was kind of ponderous.
Not at all. Your problem is that you don't understand how to deal with being disagreed with; so you cry 'troll'.Okay, I'll bite: First of all, that's the classic deflection tactic of every troll, ever.
Secondly?
Adams called it

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine, who is a huge tauren fan, and a bit misrable at Cairnes death in cata. We were talking about in lore, the concepts of honor in the horde and what it meant.
And I realised, truthfully, looking at what the horde had before cata, and what it has now under Garrosh, Garrosh's concept of honor is a joke.
Honor in the horde, what honor meant, was about honoring not just yourself and your own, but also honoring your allies, your friends, and even honoring your enemies. Honor is what brought the horde together the way it did, the concepts holding truth the packs made between the orcs, tauren and trolls, and its even what keeps the forsaken and blood elves tied to the horde because of that, as in honoring that tie (at least to the kalimdor horde)
With Garrosh, the only concept of honor he understands is his own sense of self honor. He's a gloryhog that much is apparent, but what he doesn't show, is him honoring the ties made to the horde, or honoring any level of respect for the alliance even as an enemy.
In what I compared to Cairne, and how he acted on honor, and what Garrosh acted upon it, Cairne honestly had the right idea of it, in honoring the ties made, like Runetotems pack made with the night elves. And even Baine, the concept of honor was one he had with him when he sort Jaina in theramore about the uprising at thunderbluff, finding more honor in one he called an enemy then his own allies.
Thrall was right, Cairne did represent the heart of the horde, he stood for what honor actully meant, instead of self gratification that Garrosh has. So with Cairnes death, it makes that sense of honor in the horde far far less apparent now. Maybe Baine will bring it back?
