No. While leaving behind the lore of the original Warcraft games is saddening, there is plenty of lore from other sources to draw from. There's plenty of WoW left before WoW 2.
Gameplay wise, blizzard is just trying to get into the flow of pumping out xpacks, so they wouldn't be gearing themselves up for nothing.

Not to mention the fact that a "final battle" would be too huge to even comprehend.

There are plenty of lore based encounters they can still touch on...Deathwing, anyone? How about Sargeras - sure, his remains are hanging out in his tomb in the Broken Isles, but his essence is still directing the Burning Legion through Kil'Jaden, who probably isn't dead, we just stopped him from using the Sunwell as his entrance into Azeroth. The other Old Gods are out there, too, as are Ragnaros' brothers. There's also the Caverns of Time quest lines. I think those are going somewhere big, too. There's other stuff they could do and not have to write too much more lore. Yeah, some of this has been added since WoW started, but the lore is fleshed out well enough at this point.
Arthas' demise will not be the end of the World...of Warcraft.

I think wow will be one of those hobbies EVERYONE has in the near future.
Nobody will use instant messenger anymore, just wow.
You'll be able to talk to anyone, either faction, any server in the world.
World population = 6,706,993,152
WoW population = 15,000,000
0.23% of the world population plays wow.
Or 1 in 500 people

I doubt it, like Aureus said, they are going to milk it, and like Aderother said, they have plenty of lore to draw from.
Arthas's death will only bring an end to the well-known lore that the casuals all know

If you can get the WoW population compared to the population of the countries WoW is in. That would be awsome. US. Europe. China. ect. Unless it is worldwide(every country) then nvm.

In my opinion, even if WoW does end, the story never will. There are so many stories left unfinished in the storyline of Azeroth and the rest of the universe, it's insane.
You could literally spend hours reading Wow-wiki articles and still only have a miniscule percentage of the story within the scope of your perspective.
To start there's the whole thing with the titans (which I'm not 100% on) and how they're constantly going from world to world, but still keeping a connection with Azeroth (Algalon), then the fact that the shadow cult is trying to both unearth the other old gods and resurrect the ones we've killed (C'thun in AQ40 and Yogg-Saron in Ulduar) plus there's still Uldum left to unearth, as well as the Burning Legion to finish off (Sargeras is out there somewhere), and the emerald dream hasn't even been touched in WoW. What about Malfurion Stormrage?
I doubt WoW will end, but even if it does, Blizzard will probably never abandon the epic story of WarCraft itself.
Not to mention the Maelstrom.

WoW won't end until...
1. Humans + Dwarves have regained control of all of the Eastern Kingdoms. Gnomes get Gnomeragen back
2. Elves + Humans have taken control of all Kalimdor.
3. Humans take control of all Northrend.
Arthas is just a speed bump in 'Manifest Destiny'.
Why doesn't the gnome boss solo Gnomeregan and get his capital back? Always wondered.

We still have deathwing, the emerald nightmare, ashzara, 3 more old gods, and the burning legion to kill, and that's assuming we don't meet a fresh hell of bad guys in between those.
